Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

QatarThere were ants everywhere—especially inside the fridge, which was quite unpleasant. The only source of heating is a chimney located downstairs. Unfortunately, it doesn’t heat the space evenly. While it remained cold downstairs, it became extremely hot upstairs. Once the fire burned out during the night, the entire place became incredibly cold. That said, the stay might be much more enjoyable during warmer months.
Lovely and quiet location, nestled right in the middle of the forest. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property was created by the owners with great attention to detail and a lot of love, which really shows. The house itself was charming and fully equipped with everything you might need: cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, and even firewood for the chimney. It was a perfect escape and a great way to reconnect with nature. However, in my opinion, the space felt a bit small for four people, and the cleanliness was not quite up to standard. It's also worth noting that the location is a bit remote, so it’s a good idea to bring your own food, snacks, and drinks, as it's quite far from tourist attractions.

South AfricaWifi signal was not great unfortunately - and this is a need for my husband who works online, and missing some self-catering facilities in the cabin (a kitchen bin, cutting board etc.).
This was a completely rare experience - a fairytale place for us as newly weds. Gorgeous and romantic scenery. We got to enjoy sitting at the fireplace before the rain, followed by a fairy lit dinner in the greenhouse.

PortugalNo seating inside caravan. Not the best in wet weather. Must bring your own food, it’s not close to any restaurants.
We stayed in the Owl Vardo and saw little else of the property. It is beautifully carried out, and very tastefully done. There is a separate seating area in a little greenhouse. The inside of the vardo is quite tight, though does have all necessary facilities. Raphael helped us to and from our spot and was very helpful and supremely friendly.

The host, Debbie and Marc and their friendly staff was exceptional. A very close drive to most of the tourist attractions in and around the area. A beautiful place indeed and such amazing food, make sure you book a private dinner. Great view from the lookout. A delightfully magic place you should be sure to visit.

It is almost impossible to write down all the positives and the amazing experience that we had. But here we go ... Check In We were met at the gate by the whole team (Debs, Marc & Rafael) who greeted us with massive smiles and welcomed us to the property. They helped us take our bags from the car and took them to the villa. They gave us a tour and the passion for what they do was evident with a focus on sustainability & hospitality The Villa I feel the best way to describe it is: Luxury Villa meets Fantasy Tree House. The Villa has everything you need for your stay and you sit back and enjoy. There is multiple dining options (the fire pit & Braai area was our Fav). The beds are so comfy and the attention to detail is unrivalled The Property It is such a unique place which is all a nod to Debs & Marcs family and heritage ... all of which has been hand built The Hosts Debs & Marc are great people and they treat you like family and make you feel instantly welcome and are available to help 24/7 with any questions or anything needs doing. Debs offers a private dining experience which i highly recommend (sorry Debbie i will be stealing your receipt). Rafael He deserves his own section !! Rafael is the right and left had man to Debs & Marc. He is possibly the nicest person in the world and he is there to help in anything you need. With a beaming smile and infectious laugh such a great human. Ask him anything and it is done ... what a person !!!

South AfricaMy only crit of the vardo was that for our short stay we didn't cook, and found that a lot of the shelf space was dedicated to cooking utensils, etc and we were a bit cramped with our clothing and groceries. Not really a big issue.
Dinner in the love tunnel was very enjoyable. Weather was a bit cool but the atmosphere was great. Would've been nice if there were other people also eating there as it felt a bit isolated. Hosts and staff were super helpful and friendly.

NetherlandsWe had a whole colony of ants crawling on and in our suitcase even though it was closed and did not contain any food. Very little supply of hot water so we couldn’t both take a shower in the morning.
Very cute location a little further away from Wilderness town. Very comfortable bed and had a solid nights sleep.

AustriaAs it’s a Trailer you are pretty close to nature ;) The night we stayed there at the beginning of October it was rather cold so we needed the heating system - it worked really well, but was kind of loud to sleep with.
We had a very warm welcome - the hosts are great: very friendly and helpful! We stayed at the Owl Trailer and loved the detailed arrangement of furniture, decor, colour, lights and the owl theme of course ;)
