The gentleman that had answered the front desk phone hadn't been a customer service champion like his fellow staff members.

Everything was great, except for no staff member being able to provide us with a snack or beverage after 8pm.

Perhaps a privacy curtain or door could be considered between the bedroom and bathroom. It can also be dark at night driving back from Simon’s Town. Head out early for dinner.

Location: very near to the Boulders Beach penguins; there was a side gate that leads directly out to the boardwalk next to the visitor centre about 1 min away. Perfect spot for an early morning walk to see the penguins. Facilities: the room was spacious and cosy and there was a good smart TV with Netflix/Youtube. Bathroom was well furnished with a bath tube and amenities. Bed was good. Service: Staff was friendly and attentive the moment we entered and service was impeccable. They provided lot of good recommendations of Simon’s Town. Breakfast was awesome with a view of the bay.

My Steak was well done when I asked for medium, my wife had medium rare and that was done perfectly. At breakfast I asked for soft poached eggs and got one medium and well-done egg. The lady doing the cooking seems to have problems getting that right. Thsi is the second time we visited where the heated pool was not heated, I hope next time it will finally work and have the cover on so it stays warm. It is offered as a feature, but not available and we came prepared for a swim with a view.

We love the hotel and come back every year for our anniversary and my wife brings friends for breakfast and lunch now and again as the location and ambiance is great.

    Nothing

A lovely boutique feel with a very warm and personal welcome. We really appreciated the small touches that made it fell a bit more special. A special mention is needed. The terrace is a lovely place for a drink and dinner - which had the feel of a private chef dinner party with an amazing view at dusk. Spectacular dawn watching and listening to the noisy penguins was worth the early start. Location is excellent overlooking the main penguin beach areas with a doorway down onto the walkway connecting the main view point to the left and the small beach to the right (the beach was a lovely surprise as you can swim in the secluded sheltered bay with the penguins nearby and if lucky they will come up onto the beach). Highly recommended place to stay

We didn’t feel totally at home in the communal areas. I know this is meant to feel like ‘home from home’ but as the open cooking area is right by the reception and part of the lounges, often there would be 3 or 4 staff standing round chatting and joking. When we walked into the lounge we were constantly asked if there was anything we needed which made us feel uncomfortable to just hang out there. But our room and balcony were so lovely, we spent the time there.

Top floor room fabulous view of penguin beach. Great facilities and private access onto the beach board walk. Lovely lounge/ dining area with great views. Helpful staff.

3pm check in and 10am check out is challenging. However, we made a request for a later check out which the helpful staff were very kind to accommodate. This is why we would recommend staying two nights to make the most of it.

Super location, fantastic room (Premier Suite) and facilities in the room. We had an amazing sea view, there was a bath and shower in the room with complementary snacks. The turn down service was a nice extra touch and the pool and other facilities in the resort were great. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The complementary canapés were outstanding and the breakfast was perfect, there was more than enough food. We would absolutely return. Would recommend two nights to make the most of the amazing location.

We were not in a sea facing room which was a bit disappointing and we really missed not having couches to sit on and enjoy the amazing view. It would have been awesome at the pool for example.

Breakfast and dinner was amazing. Our hosts were amazing. Nelson was particularly lovely and our hostess. The rooms were nice and spacious and very beautiful. The views were amazing.

    Honestly, this doesn't apply.

Being a boutique hotel, everything was cozy, intimate and comfortable. It's wonderful to wake up to the sounds of the ocean and the penguins, who are just not cute and noisy, but apparently, they bite! Kirsty, Nelson and team were exceptionally warm and welcoming. Simon's Town has a certain charm to it. We ate out at Dixie's. The food was great and the cocktails packed a punch.

    No complaints.

This was an exceptionally nice hotel. From the outset, we were welcomed and felt comfortable. The property manager, Ms. Kirsty Viljoen, was a lovely person who did everything possible to make our stay memorable. All the staff were delightful and the meals (breakfast and dinner) were outstanding both in ambience, service, food quality, and food preparation. Likewise, the rooms are large, beautifully appointed, and have underboard heating for the winter mornings (a nice added treat). We liked our first stay so much that we cancelled another booking to return to the property for a second visit. It did not didsappoint. We are very grateful to Kirsty, Malcomb, Dustin and all the others who took such great care of us.

Had a very noisy night unfortunately with wind causing all sorts of noises and duvet too hot. Food was delicious though very limited choice and I thought expensive for what we got.

Feels like you're in a home. Hosts were amazing. Nothing too much trouble. Views exceptional. Breakfast a highlight on balcony. Rooms enormous and bathrooms luxurious. Walks along beach stunning.
