Great experience and comfortable stay: We decided on this accomodation very spontaneously, when coming from Lesotho as we did not want to stay in the crowded capital Maseru and found this magnificent place in a quiet neighbourhood of Ficksburg. Despite our late booking (about one hour before arrival), our hosts have surprised us with an opulent dinner we had in their living-room as well as a hearty breakfast the following morning. The rooms are well-equipped with all amenities, comfortable beds, complimentary tea and coffee, so that we can really recommend that accomodation without any reservations.

A Delightful One-Night Stop in Ficksburg We spent just one night in this lovely small-town gem, and it exceeded all expectations. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed — a true home away from home. Dinner was absolutely delicious, with fresh, flavourful food that clearly had heart behind it. What really made the stay special were the hosts. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely interesting, they made us feel like more than just guests — more like old friends passing through. We left feeling rested, well-fed, and grateful for such a memorable stop on our journey. Highly recommended for anyone needing a peaceful break in good company.

I wish the staff would pay more attention to cleaning the rooms. On our second night, the toilet paper ran out, and they didn't replace some of the towels.

The hosts, both Cavin and Thomas, were exceptional. They are warm and welcoming. They also have 2 beautiful, friendly dogs.

I travel often and I can confidently say that this place is world-standard. I loved everything about Victoria House. The room was spacious and clean. The property is picturesque. They went out of their way to put a desk in my room so I could work. The dinner and breakfast were yummy. I honestly cannot rave about them enough. Highly recommend them to everyone:-)

Gavin and Calen have a very beautiful home in a central location in Ficksburg and are very helpful hosts. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully furnished with everything you could want. They prepared a delicious meal for me in the evening which I ate in the dining room of the main house. Their breakfast is also very generous.

A really lovely place to stay with delicious dinners prepared by the hosts in an old family home. The enormous pine tree has world champion tree status and was planted in 1903 from seedlings brought from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) by returning Boer war prisoners.

There is nothing that we can suggest that can be improved, it is clear that Gavin and Caylen has mastered the art of hosting and running a well functioning, warm and friendly guesthouse. Once you are there you don't need to leave as dinner and breakfast are sorted and it feels like visiting family, all your needs are catered for.

The hosts were exceptional, the food was off the charts in terms of taste and presentation, the resident dogs were a delight and the room was super comfortable with awesome linen on the bed and a fully stocked honesty snack and beverage bar.
