The rooms were huge with a real feeling of being in South Africa. The landscape is beautiful, lots of native trees and lush greenery around the property. I’d recommend the restaurant too, fabulous food and wine. Staff were so friendly and helpful- really welcoming! If you want to avoid the generic hotels and get a real sense of place in a relaxed atmosphere, I’d highly recommend Summerhill.

I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to one of the new suites which was very large, beautifully appointed, quiet and extremely comfortable. The finishes and furnishings are all top quality and the rooms and common areas are beautifully appointed. Great attention to detail regarding customer comforts - tea selection, coffee offering in the room, heating/cooling. The staff are friendly and competent. The location is very convenient and the garden setting is lovely. The breakfast offering was excellent and the service in the dining room was welcoming, quick and efficient.

South AfricaBasically nothing. Just a few suggestions. A top sheet in the bed. A waste basket in the bedroom or lounge Lastly - it was great to have several tea and coffee options but I like milk in both so it would have been super to have a little jug of milk in the fridge.
