Rooms a little bit dated, but I know this hotel from my childhood so I know it is very old. Grounds still well kept.

It was quiet. Staff everywhere were friendly. Reception, bar, breakfast they were all friendly. Breakfast still very good. Everything was clean....overall good service.

The place could use an upgrade but they did have a notice that they will be upgrading soon. The booking was for 2 but the coffee station in the room and the toiletries were only catering for 1. They could add more water bottles in the room. The picnic food portions were small considering that it was for 2 and the fact that their restaurant offers large portions for cheaper prices. It seemed like there was no effort made on the picnic food and preparation because we had to wait for them to prepare for us when we were already there though we were told to pay in advance for the picnic to be prepared on time.

The tranquility and cleanliness of the place and their prices for the bar and restaurant are very affordable. The nomad cruise was nice and affordable. Very friendly and welcoming staff

Everything was ok. The only bad experience was at the Restaurant. The waitress really took her time. We checked in and went to the Restaurant shortly after as we were hungry and wanted to Eat 1st before catching a cruise. The waitress took the order and when she brought the food one plate with Lamp was totally cold. The other one was ok so we were forced to share the warm one as she went to heat the lamp. She took forever and by the time she was back the other meal was gone. Ordering a refill on drinks was another nightmare otherwise the stay was Ok just the Restaurant messed the excitement to some extent so dinner we decided to go and eat elsewhere. Thanks

The location and views are to die for. With the golf course a few minutes away makes it a real perfect destination. We arrived with the intention to check out the place 1st before we checked 2 other places on our list but we had to check the Riviela on the Vaal 1st because of the convenient location as you get into the city from Johannesburg by road. We didn't have to think twice and there was no need to check other places. We were happy to book right away and the lady at the reception was awesome.

Needs a renovation but they are planning to do it. Also had very noisy neighbours one night as there was an event till 12 o clock with a lot of shouting and very loud music.

Breakfast could be improved, presentation and variety. Not being able to keep a tab and pay at the end of the trip was relatively frustrating. The river landscape could be maintained better. There was no hand towel and a bathroom mat wasn't brought back on our second day.

The view from our room was absolutely lovely and the cleanliness of the river added to the beauty. The room was spacious and warm. Comfortable bed and clean linen and towels.

We were in the Deluxe Room, the mats are not really clean, the shower door does not close off, it seems the other half broke down and was not replaced. The furniture is too old, the cane needs to be washed. The room could use some revamping. The bed is too low.

The food is very tasty and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
