It's a beautiful place with friendly and very helpful people. It's clean and everything has been thought of. We felt welcome from the very start. The rooms are very comfortable and has everything you need. The breakfast was great. Overall 5 star experience!

Everything about the guest house exceeded our expectations.Elza and Albert are amazing hosts.The breakfast is so good and great value for money.The attention to detail is exceptional.They even washed our car. Super impressive!

A very warm welcome. Great tips for excursions and restaurants. Secure parking. A beautiful, lovingly decorated lodge right by the river. Cool self-service bar with a wide selection. Lovely terrace with a pool. Comfortable rooms with everything you need. Many little thoughtful touches and a generous breakfast selection. We would be delighted to come back. Many thanks!

Elza and Albert are such lovely hosts who made our stay absolutely wonderful. We stayed during a cold spell and were so happy to have the heat blankets.

We enjoyed a pleasant overnight stay and opted for a self-catering option. Poplar wood all around. All rooms are well appointed and neat. Hosts are welcoming and friendly. Although we were the only guests for the evening, the staff went out of their way to offer and serve us a great breakfast. Property is within walking distance of a popular coffee shop and restaurants.

By no means any fault of the property, but in order to give an honest review i include the following: have to mention that the property is bordered by a river- which is quite nice, hover the property is also situated next to a a somewhat busy/noisy road, It does quiet down late evening, so no reason why you cannot enjoy a good nights rest. The shower is open,thus a bit messy, but easily sorted by placing a towel (provided) on the floor to stop water from splashing all over the place. Shower floor has a noticeable slope- but nothing dangerous at all. For the more sophisticated traveler I have to also mention that towels are not white..

I had a wonderful time at Riverside Guest Lodge. The breakfast was delicious and the service was outstanding. I’d happily stay again!

The log cabin is awesome inside with a giant fireplace. The view of the lawns and the river is nice.

The check-in person was not my cup of tea with some comments that were out of place. The shower floor was extremely contoured.

Amazing place. Elsa is so lovely and a great host. Very helpful. All the small things are covered too. The place is charming and a great location. Walking distance to shops, eateries and activities. A home away from home. Thank you Elsa.

All was above and beyond our expectations.

The hosts were personally involved in the check in and interacted with us through out our stage. The establishment was full of special touches that was unexpected. The rooms were beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were tasty and offered a wide variety. They even washed our car down after we had been on a dirt road the previous day.

The v be at was fully equipped and after a long day of driving, it was so nice to have a drink in the wonderful deck watching the sunset. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We really felt taken care of as guests.

Absolutely everything! This is the most charming, attention to detail accommodation we have ever stayed in! The owners have truly created an amazing adults only space - all with their guests comfort in mind. The lodge’s artifacts are so special, some are very old and make the smallest detail so interesting! Think 105 year old key locks on the doors! Some have complained about not allowing children under 12 in the lodge (not their family rooms) and I totally get it. Their lodge, their rules. Plus if a child broke something, I as a parent would be mortified. Thank you Albert and Elza for a wonderful stay! The beds, the quiet, the deck, the honor bar and yummy breakfast all made our stay so special. Many many thanks!

We booked last minute for one night and Albert and Elza were very welcoming even though we arrived late. The place is incredibly well decorated and you can tell that they put good heart in making sure guests feel comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and the view from the terrace is beautiful. Thanks again!!

This place was a great surprise. First of all, the owners are wonderful people. Then, this hotel (more a guest house, with some lodges) is beautifully decorated, and almost entirely made with wood, which makes it very rustic and close to the nature around it. We really loved it, and would have loved to spend one more night to enjoy it a bit longer.

It has to be said that this is a different experience from more conventional hotels. While we loved it, there are some aspects that might not be for everyone, like the fact that the lodge can get a bit cold and humid overnight (we went mid April).

The location and facility was good - a lot of attention to detail clearly showing the love of the owners towards their guesthouse. The guest lodge is conveniently located for easy access to restaurants

Never before have we experienced such an unwelcoming attitude! For background: we had booked 3 double rooms for 2 adults and our 4 kids between 6 and 13. Right after we left the car, Albert, the owner, greeted us by saying they had expected 3 adults and would not be able to provide us with the rooms we booked. Not because of space - we booked double rooms - but because of our kids who they would not want in the house. Even after we showed them our booking confirmation, the owners had to discuss amongst themselves whether or not we could stay. Eventually they unwillingly conceded we could have the rooms. The correct response would have been to say “oops there seems to be a mistake but hey - no worries”. We then received a rather patronizing lecture why they would not want to have kids in the house (despite no mentioning of this in their policies - I checked them and so can you). Apparently - according to Elza, the other owner of the house - kids were just running around being kids and making a big fuzz and causing creaking floorboards. For me, hard to imagine give they only have 4 rooms (at least in our wing) on the same level and we had booked 3 of them - and our kids gave the owners absolutely no reason for justifying this rude behavior (Elza half-heartedly tried to calm the waves a bit but at that time the effort was already wasted). To Albert and Elza, the owners, who will most likely have their own reasons for displaying this poor behavior and based on other little points of criticisms in other reviews seem to have a condescending way of reacting to criticism: you guys totally missed an opportunity to behave like the hosts we read about in other customer reviews. Our kids never gave you any reason to treat them and us in such an unwelcoming way, and I really cannot recommend this accommodation to anyone with family / kids. Albert not even greeted my wife or the kids in the morning.
