White curtains my room...could not sleep because of stoop light during night...my room was like daylight. They must putt up block out curtains to keep light out. Nobody was at home when I arrived.

Nice room and bathroom. Coffee facilities very nice. Love lounge

My stay was in the Winter and the swimming pool had a cover over it. Water had pooled on top of the cover and did not look good and was a breeding ground for mozzies.

Friendly hostess. The accommodation set up lends itself to a family or group stay.

I am a dog lover but it was very intimidating to be greeted by three barking dogs. The dogs were in the accommodation area lying on the couches and just generally in the way

This is my second stay here. Three years ago it was bustling, the restaurant was open and the facility in top shape. There is definitely neglect and it is a big shame that the restaurant is closed

My husband missed the owner Jacques Pauw not being there. He would have loved to chat to him about his books.

Everything about the breakfast was really good, but the friendly service from both Margaret and her husband Tony, enhanced the experience.

Didnt expect there to be dogs on the property as I was bitten before and think i missed it when going through other reviews but Sam was so thoughtful and caring to put the gods away before breakfast or when we were around.

The quaint and quirky guesthouse, a look and feel which takes you down memory lane with its big stoep, old Victorian building, beautiful garden and a swimmining pool a bonus for those hot days. Breakfast was great.Sam and Jacues was great hosts.

The shower head was low and a bit dangerous (it was at eye level for an average man).

Sam made a massive effort to cater for our special dietary needs and created some sumptuous breakfasts for us. The pool was lovely for an afternoon dip.

The shared bar fridge amongst 4 rooms and the limited indoor parking space. It would also be helpful to have an air on in the shared lounge to battle the heat and to enjoy the wonderful space.

Sam and her team were absolutely wonderful and very accomodating. The decor is quite interesting, with loads of history and a lived experience behind it. Breakfast was great and the pool was marvelous to offset the harsh summer heat.

Unfortunately, there was a wedding happening at the same time we were there, which meant there were tons of people who took over the "communal area" - pool, etc which is primarily why we came there - to relax by the pool. I would've changed the booking if I'd been told a wedding was happening. Our lounge and the area near our room wasn't cleaned up of the beer bottles, glasses, etc, which wasn't amazing.

We had a lovely time at The tin roof. The team are friendly and attentive and the breakfast is exceptional. I really liked the little lounge area outside out rooms. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are great. This spot is very well located and offers a lot of shade in the summer.

Dog faeces on the outside walkways and walkable areas. No overhead lighting means the room is dark. A shower is installed above the bath but the bath is treacherously slippery to stand up in.

It was fairly quiet and comfortable. Large trees in the garden added to the atmosphere.
