We were looking for something where the kids could run wild and be outdoors, we did exactly that.

It was exactly what we were looking for, something budget friendly, but comfortable and remote. The kitchen was well equipped and we had lovely towels.

Rangers Reserve is one of the most incredible private conservations out there. We saw an abundance of fynbos species as well as staying in amongst what felt like a grove of proteas. The mornings and afternoons were filled with bird watching along several lovely walking trails. The cabin has an indoor fireplace so we were very cozy and the kitchen has a full gas range.

Peace and quiet, as close to nature as you'd get. Lots of space to explore. Sounds from night animals a bonus. Even wifi available though at a location like this it's best to disconnect from technology. Due to recent rains the roads inside the reserve were not suitable for a normal car at the time and the hosts came to pick us up at the entrance in a vehicle with high ground clearance to take us to our chalet.

No sheds or blinds on the windows meaning early wake up ☺️

This is a little hidden gem if you like to stay in nature. Don’t be fooled about the gravel road etc.. the first part of the reserve is well drivable and after that Hilaire is such a lovely host that takes care of her guests and drives them to the Accomodation. We had one of our best stay during our trip.

There's nothing not to like about the property , Hilarie tells it how it is , after exiting the N1 you drive on a gravel track, and then you turn off left onto a rough track that has been washed away by winter rains . However Hilarie offered to ferry us to our accommodation , we didn't require it as we had a 4x4 , but it's definitely not drivable in a low clearance 2wd vehicle .

The property was exactly as described , however the photographs don't show how big it is and the beauty of the setting . The house is located in the Karoo and is set in beautiful backdrop , definitely rural but undeniably beautiful. We were a party of seven( 5 adults and 2 children ) we had tonnes of space, to chill & relax . The large kitchen and brai( bbq) were perfect for our party to socialise and enjoy the weekend . The kitchen is well equipped with two Large fridge freezers, oven and microwave, plenty of glasses, cups, plates and cutlery . The kids loved exploring and watching the weaver birds in the tree in the garden . Hilarie was a perfect, attentive host and nothing was too much trouble for her . The Wifi worked perfectly but you may struggle to get a phone signal but what's app worked with no issues

Air-conditioning or fans would have been a advantage as it does get hot on sunny days.

Beautiful location on a nice big farm. Very relaxing homey feeling. Owners very friendly and helpful.

Just let you know that it is the quite, lonely ranch located in the bush. To get there from the paved road you must drive your 2WD car on gravel road (car wash will be necessary) 5 km - to the gate of the farm. Yo will your car there and the owners will take you for free to acommodation on the bumpy country road - another 3,5 km.

The owners are very friendly and the rooms are very clean, with all amenities. They offer even internet connection in this wilderness. You will see unspoliled nature arourd, no people at all. In the night the African sky with thousand of stars in unforgettable!

The journey from the road was long and not possible in a standard saloon car. Hilarie was very friendly and helpful and kindly picked us up in a 4x4. She even took us back to our car at six in the morning.

Wow wow wow!!! This property is STUNNING - absolutely one of a kind. The accommodation is so well appointed and comfortable, and we were so pleased to be able to bring our pooches with. They enjoyed it so much. We also did a knife making course while we were there - what an experience, under the helpful and patient guidance of a master! Thank you so much - we'll certainly be back!

This was truly exceptional! The owners gave us precise information on how to get there. They gave us a ride from the parking spot to the cottages. If you want to be really remote, this calm, secluded place is just perfect. The view and the two cottages we saw were beautiful. No reception, but we had WiFi there. We recommend bringing some firewood and maybe some candles.

If we lived nearby, we'd stay every weekend! The location is quiet and peaceful. The Gypsy Wagon is a perfectly made tiny house that's comfy and well laid out. The fact that there's no Internet or electricity makes it a perfect place to escape the stresses of the N1. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.
