I would have to think hard to find fault. The photos are accurate and you will get what you see.

The hosts were very friendly, very accommodating and eager to ensure your comfort. The cottage adjoins the garage at the back and is much bigger than it first appears, giving plenty of living space inside and a small private terrace outside as well as the use of the quite amazing facilities in the main garden/pool area. It is homely, well equipped and most importantly, it was clean. You do need a car, but with the car Plotsklaps is well placed to reach the sights of both Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula, as well as local shopping and restaurants.

The water pressure in the shower is too low

The unit is spacious and the host went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant

    Nothing at all.

The cleanliness of the place, the tranquility of the environment, the friendliness of the owners and their children.

    No issues at all!

Rachael and David were excellent hosts from the start. They contacted us prior to our stay to make sure all our requirements were met. On arrival the fridge contained complimentary items, including milk, eggs, fruit, cheese, bread etc, which was a great touch! Throughout our stay they made sure we had everything we needed and they were quite happy for us to have friends over for a braai (bbq) in their large entertainment area! The cottage itself was very comfortable and spacious and contained all items needed for our stay. Our 2 young kids, were also well accommodated for during our stay, with plenty of books and toys for them to use. They loved using the pool and the kids play area on the grounds! The cottage location was perfect for us, being close enough to the areas we wanted to visit, but also far enough from the main roads to enjoy the peace and quiet! We felt incredibly safe during our stay and we'd definitely recommend this place to our friends and family. We will definitely look at booking this cottage on our next stay in Cape Town.

There's not a single negative thing to say about Plotsklaps and Dave and Rachael. They struck the perfect balance between being helpful and accommodating on the one hand and respecting our privacy on the other. The dog (Amy), the cats, and even the chickens were delightful and made the stay that much more enjoyable, especially for our kids. Plotsklaps and hanging out and conversing with Dave and Rachael were truly among the top highlights of our Southern Africa vacation.

It's difficult to put into words the amazing time we had at Plotsklaps. The beautiful property is in a perfect location in the Tokai neighborhood of Cape Town, equidistant between downtown and all the attractions around False Bay and Cape Point. It sits beneath a picturesque mountain near many great dining and shopping places as well as the Constantia vineyards and Kirstenbosch botanical garden. Guests stay in a two-story guest cottage next to Dave and Rachael's house, both of which are architectural wonders with their high thatched rooves supported by exposed log beams. Our two kids (aged 9 and 11) slept soundly in the bunkbeds in the downstairs room, with their own bathroom. The master bed upstairs was very comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. There's a full kitchen (with washer and dryer), dining room, office area, and living room with hundreds of TV channels and DVDs of classic movies. We really appreciated the welcome items of coffee, home-grown eggs, bread, milk, and delicious jams and rusks that Rachael makes herself. It was particularly nice to be able to wash our clothes after a week on safari. The property has a spacious pool and poolside pavilion with a barbecue pit and a large yard where the kids could play soccer and the chickens and cats roamed free. Dave's generator was much appreciated during "load-shedding," i.e., set periods each day when the government-run electric company turns off everyone's electricity because the power plants can't handle the overall demand. Dave and Rachael were fantastic hosts, attending to our every need and providing great recommendations about local activities and dining. They were extremely communicative, always happy to chat about where to go, how to get there, and what to do while there.

Stunning place with lovely hosts that really make you feel at home! Exceptionally friendly and helpful. The cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you need (and the extra bit more). Heated blankets for cold days in winter and homemade goodies on arrival (even got some recipes ;-). There is also a generator to cover those load shedding gaps - very useful in these times. We felt very safe in the area, away from the hustle and bustle of the city in a lovely country style thatched roofed cottage with an amazing garden, chickens and a cuddly dog - yet all the important locations close enough to reach comfortably by car. Thank you Rachael and David, hope to see you again soon!

What a lovely place to stay, especially as a family. Safe, secure and oh so beautiful with the mountain just behind us. The hosts, Rachael and David were so accommodating, kind, friendly and went above what was expected of them. We would recommend this to all and hope to stay there again in the future

We had a wonderful stay with this lovely family! Our kids loved to play in the large garden with the nice pool and jungle gym. The hospitality is outstanding and makes you feel at home. We highly recommend this place! Great neighborhood. Central location. well kept and spacious accommodation, as it is whole annex that is provided. Delicious eggs for breakfast from the free roaming chickens. The generator bails out eskom during load sheds

Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. The house has really every equipment you might need. We felt absolutely comfortable there and our kids loved the garden and the ability to roam outside. Rachael and David were great hosts. Very helpful and friendly. David even took us out on False Bay with his boat, so we were able to experience Cape Point on the water as well. He let our son use his fishing equipment and my brother was even able to take a dive out at Cape Point. Thanks a lot again for a great week in Tokai!!
