Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify a few points to provide context for future guests. Our listing has since been updated to clearly indicate that the breakage deposit is payable via EFT before arrival — this has become our standard practice for security and convenience. We acknowledge your concern about the cleaning fee and have now made sure that all additional charges are clearly stated upfront. Regarding the check-in time: while we do our best to accommodate early arrivals, this is sometimes not possible due to same-day turnovers or cleaning schedules. We apologise if this was not communicated clearly enough. We also regret the inconvenience caused by the empty gas tank on arrival. As per your request regarding the gas being empty: When we investigated the issue and checked the gas supply, we found that the gas bottle was in fact still full. Please note that the gas tap, located in the cupboard, is turned off as a safety precaution. This is standard practice to ensure guest safety and must simply be opened before use. Guests should also always check if the gas tap on gastank is open or closed. As for towels, we allocate one large towel per guest for weekend stays, but additional towels are available on request — something we will highlight more clearly in future communications. Lastly, Pearl Haven is a family-owned home and while a few storage areas are reserved for private use, guests have full access to all main living areas and amenities. We do strive to create a welcoming and comfortable space and regret that this was not your experience. We appreciate your input and are taking your feedback seriously as we continue to improve. Hi Vaughan, we understand your concern and apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the strong South-easterly winds are beyond our control, and they can sometimes cause water to blow under the patio door.
