Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBased on Ofilants river,we were in chalet 2 ,river bungalow, extremely comfortable bed , with great facilities within the room and excellent views. Good food which was a set menu. 2x Game drives per day ,morning and early evening. Excellent supplies of free bottled water. Staff are welcoming and friendly, service was always served with a smile and excellent. No pressure to provide tips which was refreshing , there are two boxes in reception to add donations these are then shared between all staff within the department. Special mention for staff , Patricia, at the bar ,Dear in the restaurant and Edwin & Nick the Game drivers ! We did see 4 out of big 5 .. (missing Leopard)

United KingdomThe scramble for safari game drive places is crazy. They know how many people want to go on the drives and how many guests per room but seats are first come first served. If you are in a big group and want to be together (we had 3 kids with us) then you have to make sure you get there early but then so does everyone else as they cater to large groups. So what could be a leisurely lunch becomes a slightly stressful race to make sure the family doesn’t get split up.

FranceEverything. The staff was lovely. The view is phenomenal. The cuisine is really good, and if you have food restrictions the chef adapts around. The game drive were great, the rangers really know their stuff, and the area. It is all respectful of the nature and of the animals. You have blankets for every drive. Thé chalet was cosy. When we arrived it was my wife’s birthday, and they had prepared the room with flowers and a bottle of sparkling wine. And for dîner we had an other bottle, and the chef baked a whole birthday cake for her. So sweet. We saw a lot of animals, lions and their cubs, elephants and babies, rhinos, giraffes, wild cat, impalas, and so many others. The rangers are really knowledgeable, they can answer all your questions. I really recommend.

GermanyOur stay at the safari lodge was simply fantastic – even better than we had hoped for. We were a group of six and were lucky enough to receive an upgrade to the Cheetah Villa. The villa was spacious, stylish, and very comfortable – we didn’t miss a thing. A real highlight was the heated pool. The food was delicious and lovingly prepared – every dish was a treat. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team on site: our safari guide Henry, who led us through the wilderness with great knowledge and passion, housekeeper Precious, who took such warm care of us, and chef Godfrey, who spoiled us with fantastic meals. Even though we didn’t get to see all of the Big Five, the safaris were a true highlight – full of exciting encounters, stunning nature, and unforgettable moments.

United StatesThere is a long dirt road from the main paved road. I understand not many people self drive to the resort, but for those of us who do, a few encouraging directional signs would be helpful.
This place clicked boxes I didn't even know existed. The accommodations were over the top. All riverfront. We only spent 3 nights, but there was animal activity every night. Elephants and hippos in and along the river, monkeys on our deck - between the game drives and the accommodations it was a very immersive experience. The food was elegant and plentiful. The staff was eager to make sure every need was met. They even picked up medicine in town when my wife developed some stomach issues. The location is perfect, and they have finding animals on game drives down to a science. The guides were capable, professional, and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. Front office staff were genuinely amazing.

AustraliaNyati exceeded our expectations for our Kruger Safari experience. The Oliphant villas are amazing and we stayed in #6 which was the most private and such an amazing large villa. The staff are outstanding and the food, facilities and surrounds are incredible. You cannot get more up close with the amazing animals of Kruger than you do at Nyati! Special shout out to our favourite game drive guide Henry, who made the whole experience 10/10!

ReunionHowever, as a vegetarian and considering the high standard of the establishment, there is significant room for improvement in catering to vegetarian guests. The menu could benefit from more balanced and thoughtfully prepared vegetarian options.
The setting is absolutely stunning, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The safaris are truly exceptional! For a family visit, I believe a three-day stay is ideal as it allows for ample relaxation. On the positive side, the breakfast is flawless, and the sunset during the safari is an unforgettable experience. Thank you for your warm hospitality!

FranceFor the same price, I would try another private game reserve the next time, because of some issues we had. 1) The water in our room kept going away and coming back. It seemed they had water tanks that had to be refilled, so sometimes we had to wait for 20-30minutes for the water to be back, and it was normally right after we came back from the game drives, which made it very inconvenient. Also, they kept watering the plants even when the water in our chalet was out, which didn't make a lot of sense. 2) On the last day we had 2 bad experiences. Firstly, our check out was scheduled for 10h30, and the host assured us the day before that we could take our time and finish packing after the game drive and go to the office when we were done. However, when we got back from the safari, the cleaning team was already getting our rooms ready for the next guests, even though our things were still inside and we wanted to have some time to get ready. We asked them for some time and they had no issues letting us in the room a little longer, but anyways it was still unpleasant. Also, our driver to the airport came to pick up our bags in the room by 9h50, while we were still getting ready to leave. Overall, we felt expeled from our room earlier than needed. Lastly, it was 38 degrees celcius, and they took us to the airport in a car with no AC, although they had another van that was AC equipped - while some other guests had a pleasant experience to airport, we were left with a bumpy, unsafe car. 3) The variation among guides is big and some of them don't offer the same experience. One of the guides we had was driving way too fast and we were jumping off the benches in the back. He also did not stop in many spots we wanted to look and did not explain anything of the animals we were seeing.
Private game reserves are the way to go for a Safari experience. And Nyati was great for the most part. Here are some of the reasons: 1) Their timings are great. You have black coffee/tea at 5am and leave for a game drive (safari) right away, before the sun is too hot. You come back for breakfast, have free time until 2pm, when you have lunch. At 3h30pm you leave for the afternoon game drive, and come back before dinner is served. This allows for 6h of safari per day, at the best times and temperatures, and free time for resting and pool time. 2) Their infrastructure is great. The cars for the game drive are sturdy and reliable. The rooms are air conditioned and beds are comfortable. The hotel is facing a river where many animals come to drink water and walk by. 3) They have great guides. Specifically Nickel and Henry were really good! They had different styles, but both of them were really respectful to the animals and took the time to explain what we were seeing and engaging in conversations. If you stay at Nyati, I would highly recommend you to try and do some game drives with them.

United KingdomOur time at @nyatisafarilodge was truly special, it will forever have a special place in my heart 🫶. From the breath taking views, the wildlife that explored the grounds - right outside the room to the bush. It was like a slideshow on what animal next was crossing our bungalow (monkeys, giraffe, elephant, springbok) We got so lucky with the beautiful game drives that our amazing guide - Henry took us on from 5am sunrise to sunset. We seen the big 5 and more ! We even got to star gaze the beauty of kruger. The locations he took us too & what we learnt about surviving in the wild. We took half a day out to visit @moholoholo_wildlife_rehab with Kenneth which is a rehabilitation center for injured & abandoned wildlife. The @nyatisafari team took incredible care of us, they genuinely went above and beyond and made us feel like family. The food & our stunning river bungalow was more than we could off wished for. And the people we got to meet will be friends for life. Huge thanks to Henry, Kenneth, Rome, Ashanti, the amazing chef, innocent and his “not so innocent” cocktails and all the staff. We simply not wait to return again. Nyati truly left us with memories for life.

We had a lovely time at Nyati! They offer 2 game drives a day (one early in the morning and one in the afternoon), which were incredible. We saw the big 5 and many more animals, and our guide Henry was great! The food was very good and they always had a vegetarian option. Drinks were great too. Our bungalow had a view of the river and we saw so many elephants every day! Monkeys were also fun to watch but beware of them trying to steal your things haha.

United KingdomThe additional game drives and day excursions could have been better explained on our first arrival. The organisation for the large contingent of Danish guests appeared better structured than for guests such as ourselves, arriving for a few days in the middle of the week.
The location by the river and the game drives. The open roof and open side game drive vehicles were perfect for viewing the wildlife. The food was outstanding - a varied selection of quality food, prepared perfectly. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Easy transport to and from the airport. The accommodation and communal spaces were spotlessly clean and well staffed. Very polite and friendly staff - maintenance, security, admin. A very well managed venue.
