We had a truly fantastic stay at The Nomads Den. The hosts were incredibly warm, responsive, and accommodating throughout our visit. One of the highlights for my kids was watching the game by the watering hole—they absolutely loved it. We also spotted quite a bit of wildlife around the house, which made the experience even more special. The surroundings were breathtakingly scenic and so peaceful. It was such a beautiful getaway, and we’re already looking forward to coming back!

Stunning location, beautifully appointed property. Best location within the wildlife preserve. Owners excellent communicators and very happy to assist with anything, they helped us organize our trip with many details from hire car to safari outings.

I would suggest only one improvement which is mosquito nets.

This is a great place if you are looking for peace and quiet surrounded by nature. We loved spending time at the back of the house just watching animals passing by. We had a pleasure to see zebras, giraffes, antelopes, mongoose, warthog, birds etc. The place is a short drive from Hoedspruit in a fenced estate. We booked our stay with breakfast. It's worth mentioning that the host brings breakfast ingredients in the morning around 8:30 as and when agreed; in our case it was on day 1 and 4, but you can decide as you please. You will need to prep food yourself. You can also book your stay without breakfast. The villa is spacious and comfortable. There is a washing machine, it is filled with detergent, so no need to bring your own.

Nomads Den really raises the bar on Hoedspruit properties. The standard set by the very personable hosts is second to none and the location in the reserve is exceptional. Comfort reigns throughout the home both indoors and out. Wildlife viewing right from the comfort of the lapa makes this place even more special. If you’re a bush enthusiast, yet want the comfort of being close to local amenities Nomads Den really is beyond measure. No doubt that we’ll be returning in the near future.

Everything was perfect. The property is beautiful and clean. A very serene place to stay. The hosts are also very friendly and helpful.

This would be actually pointing out some very tiny topics for improvement. - There are two (large) rooms each having their own bathroom. In one room the bathroom/WC is separated with a door, in the other room there is no door, shower and WC are just around the corner after a wall. I prefer a fully separated bathroom is this prevents humidity/odor from entering the room and gives more privacy. - Each bedroom has large windows looking at the porch/garden and they have mosquito windows; the living room however does not have a mosquito window; meaning you need to keep the main windows closed (unless you don't mind bugs in the house) - The description mentions the villa is along a river bedding; keep in mind this is a dry river bedding like most smaller streams in South Africa. Just a remark, not a negative item

Well, I travel a lot and this is one of the rare places where it is hard to find negative aspects. The venue is in a secure and beautiful wildlife estate with lot's of game that walks around at the property. So, when walking around or when sitting under the porch there is frequent visit of beautiful animals. The villa itself is clearly well-designed with all the latest and modern technology. Also, the design blends all perfectly and gives you a very luxurious feeling. Cleanliness is impeccable. Beds are very comfortable! Perfect airco inside, great WiFi, Sat TV, super modern kitchen, incl wine fridge, nespresso machine; laundry machine... all present. Thanks to the reverse osmosis water purification you have very clean water. The showers produce a lot of hot water and the available toiletries are of great quality. Outside you have a very large porch, with big dining table, comfortable lounge seats and swimming pool. The pool is not heated and not big enough to swim; but perfect to cool down a bit on hot days. Also available are a Big Green Egg and a big Weber BBQ for those who want to do a braai. We ordered a private chef and massage through Nomad Den and both were great value for money!

The nearby restaurants don’t match the luxury experience that one has at the accommodation. I understand that this is not the accommodation’s fault but it was hard to get a fancy place for dinner in town. We also struggled to get a nice place for a spa, mainly because the nearby lodges gave preference to their own guests. It would have been nice if there were optional cleaning services but for a cheaper rate.

Exquisite 2-bed luxury facility providing privacy whilst embracing the natural surroundings. Great setting for a romantic escape, weekend getaway with friends. Provides a balance between work and vacation (workation) if you are working from home but also want to have a vacation at the same time. Great internet facilities and overall luxury decor with attention to the finest detail.

It was extremely hot in Hoedspruit during one day, but the AC and pool solved that quickly

The location of Nomads Den is excellent, situated right on a riverbed. Very private. The first giraffe was waiting for us when we got there.
