How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

My mattras was not comfortable at all. It was hard. There's no soap holder in the shower.
I liked the place. The owner was friendly and welcoming to me and my kids. He even went to an extent of accommodating my sister. He also brought the microwave in our room for convenience

Parys has an electricty problem which resulted in us getting ready with load shedding lights however we do recognize that this is not an Nkwasi Lodge issue and in fact measures have been put in place for guest's comfort which is highly appreciated.
Nkwasi Lodge is situated at a perfect location. My sister and I were there for a family funeral therefore we did not have an opportunity to have breakfast nor to use the facilities completely however Hein was extremely wonderful and accommodating. We will definitely come back again.

The drain in the shower was blocked and it overflowed .Not good for your feet. The bedding was not fresh and had a slight odour.
Hein was very friendly and is a good host. The aircon was a plus because it was very hot in the room. The pool was clean. Lapa was also clean. We will definitely recommend it to anyone ...

Service was excellent. Staff was very helpful and considerate. They assisted us with a freezer for the meat that had to stay frozen. They made sure we were safe and in good hands. Will definitely stay here again. Absolutely no complaints.

That I couldn't check in

Nothing, everything was perfect.
Nkwasi Lodge is a home away from home that's how the host Mr Hein made us feel. Everything we needed was available, I need an iron in our room and Mr Hein organised it. The beds were comfortable the place was spotless clean and the location is perfect. My 4 Yr old daughter enjoyed the swimming pool more than anything. On our second night there area was off from loadshadding but we were still on because they have a backup solar system. I definitely recommend the place to anyone who plans to visit Parys.

The shower door is not easily accessible for someone who is a bit big. Especially coming out of the shower but I managed

The owner Hein is very friendly and professional, he attends to all your needs and also the place is very clean and the pool was also nice and clean and beautifull as well, would really recommend anyone to stay there while in Parys, me and my wife really enjoyed staying there thank You Hein and Staff for a lovely week.

Nothing really, I loved everything about that place.
Firstly the welcoming was excellent,the owner was friendly and didn't mind to show us the place and also made sure we understood and showed us how everything operates there, the room was amazing omg the beds where comfortable ❤ 😍 I loved everything about that place and they also give privacy they don't interrupt your stay they give you time to relax, it's so amazing ❤
