It’s hard to pick just one thing we liked, because honestly, this was one of the best stays we’ve had in all our extensive travels. Missing out on a place like this would be a real shame, the accommodation, interior, and rooms were absolutely top-notch. The location was also perfect for visiting Kruger National Park. A big thank you to Ruan and his wife for making the experience even more unforgettable. Do not miss this spot while you can!

I liked everything!!!

Muunga Bush Lodge is in a very unique location in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. I could sit by the pool and watch birds fly by or, nyala and warthogs wonder by. There are nice walking trails that take you to waterholes with hides for viewing animals. I enjoyed delicious breakfasts and dinners my entire stay. The Lodge and outside areas are beautifully decorated. There are a number of local magazines, bird and animals books available for reading. I definitely recommend Muunga if you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

There's nothing to dislike! Everything was perfect!

The lodge is absolutely beautiful! It's clean, slots perfectly into the wildlife estate, making you feel part of it, and so comfortable. Drinks by the pool, breakfast with impala strolling by and sundowners by the firepit...all amazing. Plus, the hosts Ruan and Jen are so friendly and welcoming. They even gave us loads of recommendations for the Cape Town part of the trip.

Incredible location well located in Hoedspruit! Ruan and his family (owners of the lodge) were super welcoming and so friendly. They let their home become ours which was a very personal touch! Would highly recommend!

Just something to be aware of - in the room there isn't a door between bedroom and bathroom, although there is a wall that divides up the rooms.

We thought we were only going to crash for a night after a long flight and before starting a safari the next day, but we were absolutely mind blown by how amazing everything was. Perfect location in the middle of what is called "Wildlife Estate" which gives you a chance to see wild animals strolling nearby (we almost saw all the same animals we saw on the safari strolling around the lodge), this is an astounding place with a beautiful room which makes you feel you're in a dream! Last but not least - Ruan and Jenny were very friendly and informative on things to do, and even gave us recommendations about Cape Town which was our next stop. For a small fee, we pre-arranged dinner (which was delicious and cooked by one of their chefs) and transfer from the Hoedspruit airport as well. Communication was easy and Ruan was very responsive. It was such a shame that we only spent one night - had we known how calm and beautiful it all was, we would have 100% extended our stay. So sad to have left but I rave about it. There couldn't have been a more perfect welcome to South Africa.

Firstly I wanted to do something relaxing for my birthday trip and was supposed to go to Cape Town but changed my mind and went to the Bush. My my my what an awesome decision I took, the host Ruan was awesome I felt at home. He organized the extras with ease such as the boat cruise, Spa and Game Drive without a hassle. The place is so amazing and homely. You just need to get there and experience it yourself. The talks we had in the morning freshly squeezed juices the list is endless.

The treatment when we asked for few minutes to clear the room didn't sit well, and the way the co-host reacted made us feel unwanted and not paying customers.

The property is easy to access, the rooms were clean and the balanced breakfast. The hosts were superb, made sure we felt at home at all times and prepared a delicate dinner taking into our allergies.

A paradise! The reality far exceeds the photos. The setting is worthy of a fairy-tale movie, with the evening wood fire releasing tropical scents and a breathtaking landscape! Ruan and his wife are welcoming and attentive. On the last day, I fell ill and Ruan provided me with the necessary medication. On the first day, not having booked anything to do, he arranged a small safari for me. The food is delicious, although South African cuisine is quite unique and may not appeal to those accustomed to European and American cuisine. However, at Muunga Lodge, everything is delicious! The cherry on top is that the body care products such as lotion and shampoo are homemade. On the day of departure, even though the check-out time is at 10am, they allowed me to stay until my flight time. I highly recommend Muunga Lodge!

Every detail is considered with care, everything you need will be handled. For the price they far exceeded our expectations. You will receive 5+ star service, incredible food, and (if you wish) great conversation. We will personally tell anyone we know coming to the area to stay here.
