Our only regret was not staying for longer !

We cannot recommend this place enough , everything was exceptional. The food , location , room and staff were simply incredible. We were travelling with a toddler and the coot club staff couldn’t do enough for us, it’s so well catered for kids. We can’t wait to come back!

WOW! This place is amazing. Loved everything about it. Stayed in the starboard beach house with the most magnificent view. The decor is stunning and so comfortable. The staff at Coot Club are fantastic nothing is too much trouble so friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately the road was damaged and muddy due to the storm which require to park your car in different location and they have arranged a transportation for you. I hope they can fix the road urgently.

Chris was exceptional with the kids . It was the best ever vacation for them. Chris and Ella really make you feel at home.

Everything! Go there and you will not regret. Take the gravel street as the beginning of an adventure in this historical accommodation! We and our kids especially liked: - the cottages - the play room - the restaurant - the jetti and the sundowners at the jetti (our kids preferred the crisps and the dried mangoes anyways) - the trip with the 4x4 to the beach with Becky - The self guided hikes with Google earth - … You can feel the new spirit of the coot club and the spook house, please keep it that way!!

The road into the hotel was rough and full of pot holed - very hard going to drive - obviously not the fault of the hotel, but useful for guests to know.

While not a game changer, it would be nice to have some private outdoor space at the Boathouses, or some seating outside. We cooked dinner there on the second night, but as there was no braai, we had to make another plan. As well, the door between the main bedroom and kitchen was in an awkward position and kept sticking.

Coot Club is a wonderful addition to the south coast of South Africa. The boathouses are divine - beautifully furnished with extraordinary views. The Spookhuis is a gem - and those milkwoods around the dining area are priceless. The pizzas on Friday nights are perfect and the light lunch was just what we wanted after a long walk to the sea and a kayak. Ben and Michele were both very warm and welcoming and helped pack cooler boxes and organize dinner last minute on the first night.

The dining setting is magical under the trees or inside the sensational Club House. Loved the staff who had empathy, wit, humour, made us feel at home and anticipated our needs well.

Only thing I can think of is that the dinner was a bit late (18:30) for little kids. It’s be perfect if dinner was possible from 17:00 onwards.

We loved everything. The boathouses are amazing. Location is gorgeous, everything is so modern and stylish. The food was incredible. It’s perfect for younger kids but as adults you’ll have just as much fun.
