The fact that we were not able to make a fire..not even in a mobile braai on the small beach area. The braai drum is too deep for proper heat to even braai with charcoal and was forced to braai on the gasstove.

Was veryyy cold in winter time but that can’t really be avoided but good to note in preparation. The toilet wasn’t great - we were told on arrival that we needed to be in the accommodation between 8:30 and 9:30 for people to come and empty it as it is a chemical toilet. We set an alarm the first day but no one came to knock on the door. The next day we weren’t in the accommodation and that time as we had plans and the next day no one knocked either so I’m not sure why we were told we needed to stay inside. Could do with a small table inside for eating at especially in winter!

Really beautiful place on the river so nice at sunrise and sunset. Staff were very friendly and good location to access Addo. Lots of activities offered like canoeing which we didn’t participate in but seemed fun! Was equipped with all we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

The fact that we were not allowed to make a wood fire..not even on the beach in a portable braai, when low tide. Also, the Weber's leg gave in and was replaced with a deep ..looked like a truck rim and couldn't get the meat done & had to switch to the gasbraaier. The shower went hot and cold.

Noise from traffic was disturbing at night, but nothing can be done about that. On hot days, the toilet chemical became overpowering inside the bedroom. Some cleaning issues on inside bedroom window edges and the floor, especially corners and out of sight ledges & shelves. Some crockery was not clean when taken out for use.

Scenic, loved being on the water, amazing bird life, very friendly & professional staff, very accommodating, allowing us an earlier check in 👌🙏

The toilet, but I did read about it in reviews before we came so was prepared.

Love the location, and the fact that they add small touches to let you feel welcomed. Chocolates on bed, white clean bedding, milk in fridge aswell as juice. My husband loved the fishing, we will return. Beautiful sunsets!

The place was fairly small and the toilet was difficult to operate.

The boat was clean and neat. They supplied fresh fruit juice and milk as well as chocolate. The view was amazing, especially the sunrise in the morning. I liked the flaps that could be lowered to shield from the wind.

Not used to the old school toilet,would be nice to see something a little bit more comfortable.

The location was perfect,peaceful and just what you need to unwind. Evening was awesome with the lights on made it all seem magical. If relaxing is what you need this is the right setting.

The sound of the motorway. The boat house on the water was so tranquil.

The onboard septic tank situation can be a bit uncomfortable but it's typical with a houseboat / caravan living quarters. The freestanding toilet at the top is a better option but a bit far away to walk.

The view is unbeatable and the atmosphere is amazing. Feeling the waves rock the boat from the wake of other boats, makes you really feel like you're on a houseboat. The above toilet and shower comes in handy as the toilet area on the boat is very small and is next to the sleeping quarters, which can intrude on one's personal space. Typical caravan arrangement which isn't bad if you're comfortable with such an arrangement. They gave a variety of glasses and crockery. They stock shower gel, dishwashing liquid, refuse bags and typical things that you'll need on a short stay, which is quite practical and thoughtful. The river guide / staff members are very helpful and friendly. We were reimbursed the breakage deposit fairly quickly after our stay - no problems. Overall good experience!
