Breakfast was the most special we've ever enjoyed. It was like having a meal in a royal palace with lovely china, classic, vintage pressed linens including napkins for our laps and napkins wrapped around the delicious, seeded toast to keep it warm. We were served graciously and elegantly with delicacies brought in on a tray. We stayed four nights and every breakfast was a gourmet work of art. The starter of yogurt, chopped fresh fruit, and granola slabs set the stage. The eggs and potatoes were served piping hot and creatively presented with the perfect balance of flavor and color. There was fresh grapefruit and orange juices pressed from the fruits of Russell's and Alan's farm. Homemade jams included lime marmelade and grapefruit marmelade. It was all exquisite, including piping hot cappuchino. We stayed in the luxury king suite with the private balcony, where we often enjoyed glasses of Cape Town wine and take-out pizza. Supplying glasses and cutlery were only some of the extras that Hotel Lola provided for us. There was always someone to help or guide us. We enjoyed bathing in the sumptious big tub and sleeping on the most comfortable mattress. There is so much to experience and look at in this delightfully eclectic, vintage, and artfully furnished guest house. Communications with Russell were always prompt, kind, and informational. It is walking distance to the colorful BoKaap neighborhood, Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Company Garden, and Greenmarket Square. Service is apparent in all ways. We sing high praises of our time at Hotel Lola!

We loved the hosts Russell and Allen! There recommendations on where to eat, drink and visit is something you can’t get on google. Also appreciated the decor and attention to detail, it felt like home away from home.

I liked everything from this place. The friendliness, kindness, service of staff and especially of Russell. Super clean, the building where the hotel is, it’s around 200 years old, but very well maintained, decoration is super nice, beautiful furnitures and even plates use for breakfast makes you feel that you are in another era. Super warm and cozy, and as I am a world traveler I strongly RECOMMEND this place. Location the best, everything is so close by, high security and above ALL which I will never forget is the breakfast. Delicious, tasting, healthy. THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL STAY. Definitely I will come back to South Africa and Cape Town and this is going to be my ONLY choice ❣️

Such a colorful place full of warmth and hospitality. Exquisite breakfasts. Thoughtful tips on Cape Town and insights on South Africa. So unexpectedly wonderful, usually the place I stay is not a key part of a visit... but here... A true gift to have stayed with Russell and Allen, and so many thanks to both and all who work at Hotel Lola. Still feeling lucky to have bumbled across your path! Felt like staying with friends...!

Everything, misleading description, fire hazard, large number of steps not suitable for the elderly, no private bathroom as described by booking.com. Rusty toilet absolutely unacceptable

Lovely hosts that have clearly put a lot of thought into the decor. Very quirky and lovely touches. The breakfast was incredible, full of flavors, they made us a gorgeous takeaway breakfast when we had an early start. Good location, highly recommend.

It's very different from the usual business travel experience. The hosts are fantastic guys. The decor and ambiance take you back to the turn of the century. If you like concrete and glass, don't go. If you want character and class, don't pass.

Great location, close to local restaurants and sightseeing. I loved the rooms designs and the setup of the whole place. I felt instantly relaxed when I arrived. Loved my room and access to a little balcony. Russell and staff were absolutely wonderful!! So friendly, welcoming and gave excellent advice on where to go, how to get there and where to eat. The hotel breakfasts were delicious!! Definitely a great way to start the day My only regret is not having found Hotel Lola sooner! Thank you so much for such a lovely stay!

A truly special place to stay. Bursting with colour and personality. Decor is eclectic in the best way - every piece feels thoughtfully chosen. The owners are exceptionally warm and welcoming. And the breakfasts are fantastic!

Absolutely nothing

Russell and Allen are amazing hosts, super friendly, and all the other reviews are true: BREAKFAST IS AMAZING (including their lovely homemade bread). Rooms are spacious and beautifully styled.

Absolutely everything about this little gem is perfect! The location, room, and oh my goodness where do I start with the food! And if that isn't enough you have the dynamic duo of Russell and Allen who are the kindest and most gracious hosts I have ever stayed with. Do not hesitate to book, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Russell and Allen for being part of my travel story, you and Lola will live long in my memory.
