Felt like other visitors were more important coz was continously reminded not to make noise and it is not my character to cause or throw parties at any lodging.. So felt was too much and we hadn't made noise😢... But she warmed up and saw we are very respectful wives

Clean room and bathroom. Rooms were almost soundproof. The garden is so beautiful and a nice view. The host was very friendly and went out of her way to make our stay plessant. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. Aircon worked 100%. The room and property was very clean.

Bathroom's a little small. But not too much of an issue. Would have loved to play with the Cocker spaniel puppies a little bit more.

Irma was very friendly and helpful and arranged for a delivery of take out food when we were to tired to get out. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated and we had everything we needed. The garden is beautiful

The property is stunning, the garden is a beautiful oasis. We had the most delicious breakfasts. We were so close to all the shops and when we returned from our day trips , the rooms were emasculated made up.

We arrived after a very long and tiring flight from Australia , only to be greeted by the warmest welcome from Irma and Paul our hosts. They made us feel right at home straight away. Their warmth and attention to detail is one of the best in all the very many B&B’s we have stayed in world wide. We wanted for nothing, Irma made sure that we were so comfortable as a family and welcomed us as if we were their own family.

We loved everything !

From the start this was a great choice. Paul, one of the owners, was quick to respond to my questions and very pleasant. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Irma, the other owner, and Paul’s wife and Paul. Our rooms were down a flight of stairs but Paul was quick to make sure our bags were taken to our rooms. On our way down we got our first glimpse of the beautiful and impeccably manicured French style garden and pool ! Outside of each room were a table and chairs for a pleasant place to have morning coffee or just sit and enjoy the garden. Our rooms were tastefully appointed with great extras like a coffee maker, biscotti, and some toiletries. The beds were very comfortable. We were greeted by the house mascots, two adorable and sweet cocker spaniels ! The third member of the family (a senior dachshund) we got to meet later (I have a soft spot for him as I am a dachshund owner). Breakfast is available on request for an additional fee (it was well worth it). Now a word about the hosts…they know how to greet and treat people ! I cannot ever remember having hosts that were so accommodating, pleasant, easy going and charming ! I felt as though I was leaving old friends when I departed after only two nights. I would highly recommend La Vida Luka to anyone traveling to Pretoria ! You won’t be disappointed. Please note: credit cards are not accepted !

Irma and Paul were wonderful, engaging hosts who went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. I had a specific dietary requirement which was provided for willingly. The breakfasts in the morning are truly 5 star hotel quality. All requests were met with eagerness to help. An absolutely stunning garden to relax in which provides cool shady areas and a respite from the heat.

Al Vida Luka Luxury Guesthouse in Lukasrand Pretoria offered everything that you can expect of a guesthouse plus a lot more. Clean, comfortable, private and quiet. Irma went out of her way to assist us with a rather difficult situation by cleaning and moving a fridge to her garage for us to use for meat we had to keep cool during our 2 day stay. She showed real interest and compassion for my husband who had an operation in Jacaranda Hospital. We arrived as strangers and parted as friends! Rita van Molendorff
