We couldn't get the log burning fire to light properly, though that may have been the wood. The lack of an en-suite bathroom for the master beroom is also a slight negative.

Don't rely on the wifi, but that is not why we were there :-) Who needs wifi when you are in a beautiful town with wine farms all around you.

Rietha was warm & welcoming on our arrival, and helpful during our stay, going over & above to assist us. A bottle of wine greeting us too, with wood for the fireplace and all the blankets for comfort. It was a lovely cottage with everything we needed, and good location close to town.

For what we'd needed as a weekend stay in Franschhoek, La Galiniere ticked our boxes and can't think of anything that would need highlighting as a negative.

Property was easy to find & get in, and was well located for either a quick Uber/taxi ride to outlying wine farms or to walk to nearby Wiesenhof, Old Road or Franschhoek Wine Cellar (or a bit further along to the wine tram starting point if you've booked that). The cottages were well equipped for winter with blankets, heaters in the rooms, and a fireplace with complimentary wood and starter kit. Beautiful open view of the mountains.

Lovely central location, very peaceful even though on the main road to Franschoek, the cottage is well set back and there were no noise disturbances. Lovely clean cottage - had everything we needed for our one night stay. Thanks so much for hosting us.

the room was slightly dated, and could do with a few extra pillows and blankets in the rooms as we got quite chilly at night, but this didnt take away from our stay, overall we enjoyed our stay

the farm was beautiful, easily accessible to main attractions, and convenient. we were comfortable in our room, as it had lots of space and was close to restaurants, the tram and other activities.

No shampoo, shower gel and body lotion in bath/shower. No rusks to enjoy with your tea or coffee when you wake up in the morning. The pool furniture was not very clean. The back yard was also not very clean.

The cottage is nice, spacious and clean. We enjoyed the fireplace before bedtime. The views on the mountains are very beautiful and tranquil. We enjoyed to relax outside, next to the pool, with the very nice complimentary bottle of red wine.

The accommodation is starting to need some upgrades and maintenance especially considering the price per night.

Very spacious and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting. We travelled with an infant and the camping cot could fit comfortably into the room without feeling cramped. The location, at the entrance to town, makes for a tranquil setting but shops and restaurants are a short drive away.

Poor a/c - not a proper wall mounted unit but a free-standing machine in each room which didn’t make any difference and had v weak air flow. Luckily not too hot while we were there but I would definitely need something more effective for hotter weather. There was one free-standing fan in the sitting room which was far more effective. Would have loved to have washing machine to wash some clothes while we were there.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely location surrounded by vines just out of town. You need to look carefully for the entrance as easy to miss. Delicious bottle of wine left as a welcome and v cheap to purchase more. We bought good coffee and pastries at Mother Dough, a short distance away, for breakfast. They also sell frozen home cooked meals to take away. The cottage had decent cooking facilities. We loved the 3 dogs we met, the eldest of which liked to hang out with us. Would definitely return.

Reitha was very helpful and met us on arrival and check out. The location was quiet yet very close to town and the overall feeling was one of relaxation and rustic comfort. Lola was a lovely daily visitor to come and check in with us (one of the 3 friendly dogs).

The host is very attentive to the guests’ needs and there is always someone on the property to ask, if there are questions. The 2 bedroom Appartement is beautiful and very comfortable. We felt very well taken care of and can give our highest recommendation!
