Everything was good, except the small wood stove which needed a hinge fixed on the door, and it smoked a lot, so landed up not using it for heating. Owner said it would be fixed. The kitchen floor had not been swept when we arrived, but am sure that was an oversight.

Stunning views onto the river, great bird viewing. Nice, modern kitchen with gas stove & oven. Good sized fridge. Had everything we needed. Indoor & outdoor braai, although indoor braai smoked a bit. Bedrooms are good size especially main bedroom, comfortable beds and ample cupboard space. Ensuite bathrooms in both bedrooms was a bonus. Overall layout of the house is very practical and well thought out.

Fully furnished luxury chalet, quiet and relaxing. Our kids enjoyed the fishing and game drive. It was extremely cold but the 2 indoor fire and Braai place helps heat up the place. Just wish they had heated blankets because the rooms do get colder during the night in winter. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back in summer for some fishing.

The only thing we would have liked was a washing machine. But it was not a train smash since there is an excellent laundromat in Velddrif (Koeks Laundry).

Everything! When we got there, we could immediately feel the stress leave our bodies. Truly relaxing and the hosts were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the game drive and the boat trip. We will definitely be back to stay in the chalet with the hot tub. Thank you for everything Johan and Linda.

This was our family's second visit. We enjoyed it the the first time and loved it the second time. The chalets have everything you need. The view is absolutely breathtaking, and the serenity of nature that surrounds the chalets is what will take us back there again and again.

The units are very new and I can only imagine how hot it can get in summer. Some tall trees around the chalet would be nice to bring some shade and coolness?

Nothing we didn't like. Aa a development perhaps, a swimming pool would be great. We thought of swimming in the river but it was running a bit too fast for the kids. Amazing views though.

We were a family group os 5 adults and 5 kids (ranging from 14-5 years old). They loved being able to roam free and safely in the large area around the chalets, and went off on adventures. For adults, we especially loved the amazing views of the river and the sunsets; the peace and quiet; the birds, and of course visiting the Quagga and other animals on the game drive. An easy journey from Cape Town, and we did a good day out to Langebaan area too. Excellent stay. Thank you all.

We went on Easter, so at the very beginning, not that hot. Nonetheless, the thermometer reached 32 °C on Saturday . It was boiling hot, and the beautiful house but, with metal roof, and the lack of aircon, lead to a not pleasant experience. Avoid summer. Better go in winter and enjoy the chimney

Nothing can compare to the fresh air you feel here, the stars at night is just something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. The facility is excellent and you can find complete peace here. The view from the houses and the big open spaces around you makes you feel so free. Thank you Lermitage we had an absolute blast!
