Surrounding area offers little (nothing that the KC can do about this). Infrastructure needs investment

The best stay-over in Kimberley. A secret peep into history, in a secure, parking, dinner

The neighborhood is sadly deteriorating, and the municipality is letting Kimberley down. This is not a showstopper to experience the old ways.

The ambience is everything! It is old school and historic. The old mining town Gentlemen's Club shines through. The restaurant is good without breaking the budget. There is plenty of secure parking!

The carpets and decor need a refresh - would be great to have a contemporary touch alongside the historic elements; also the surrounding area along Currey Street needs a clean up, part of the street is used as a toilet (presumably by homeless people) which is quite disgusting, the local municipality should be encouraged to carry out proper street cleaning in the vicinity of the club

It’s a wonderful period property with loads of atmosphere in a very central location

Club or party venue close by were going until 4 in the morning. Seemed to be short staffed.

Central location. Amazing.building with rich history. Food was good but a bit on the high side. Security was good and safe convenient parking. Staff were trying really hard and went out of their way.

Located in CBD isn’t the most attractive setting. While the dinner menu was wholesome I felt it was more akin to ‘bar food’ rather than a restaurant. While the website refers to a ‘fine dining’ experience I presume this is for other more formal occasions rather than the routine day-to-day set up that I experienced.

What a fascinating place - almost like stepping back in time! Packed with artefacts from a bygone era and full of history. Very comfortable bedroom and spotlessly clean.

They should lean more into the incredible heritage here (there was a signed photo of Queen Elizabeth II behind a coat stand which was a shame). There are few staff about and they seemed to be running between the bar and the reception to cover both a lot.

The history of the property is exceptional. Beautifully laid out. Good bar and restaurant. The staff were very accomodating.

The room was fine although could have had some drinking water and a tumbler available. Nice balcony and bathroom facilities.

I think both staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The reception manager/barman/waiter (boxer in spare time) was an exceptionally good host. No doubt a very valued member of staff. The history of the hotel is so interesting and hopefully will be nurtured by generations to come. The evening meal was delicious - we had lamb.
