Bookings.com has added a hidden cost of 2 payments of R100 as booking fee which I was unaware of. Very disappointed .

The rooms were dated with quite a few issues such as: in my room a missing light bulb in lamp, broken cupboard door, safe didn't work (they tried once to fix it then gave up), key to the room didn't work properly. In friends' rooms, also safe didn't work, bathroom drain smell, key card to the door kept failing. We also felt quite harassed by the staff to confirm spa and restaurant bookings numerous times, even ones that had been fully paid. They were insisting on full up front payment for everything with great urgency, for wine tasting, picnic and dinner. We went out sight seeing for the day and said we would pay in the afternoon when we returned at 3pm, and we were getting phone calls chasing us for payment throughout the day.

The food menu has barely changed in years and is overly complicated and unnecessary - it needs to be simplified and revised. There are also very limited activities aside from the pool, spa and picnics (most at a steep cost) which makes the maximum stay time limited - mini golf, padel, pool table etc would go a long way at negating this.

Kievits Kroon is a little gem. We have been there multiple times and are always sad to leave. Yvette is absolutely amazing at sorting any issues - will be coming back for many years.

Our picnic was very disorganized and the food most underwhelming. The presentation was lovely though. We felt like the hotel could’ve spoilt us with a gesture for our 11th wedding anniversary as that was the reason for our weekend getaway. We’d made it know during our booking as well as mentioned to the reception staff while checking in. The room description states that the rooms are sound proofed but that was not our experience. On our 2nd night other guests arrived back late from celebrations and banged the door to our block many times and did the same first thing in the morning. So we were woken with a fright during the night and early morning by others.

The Estate is spacious and we really enjoyed being able to go for walks around the estate and finding not too crowded spaces to enjoy our own company. The oysters, Mimmosas and smoked salmon was such a welcomed extra at the breakfast buffet. The welcome drink and snack jars were also noticed and appreciated as didn’t receive this at other hotels we e stayed at. Thank you

Smart tvs would be a great upgrade to the rooms and bigger coffee cups. I also asked for a twin room on the booking and confirmed twice but when I got to the room it wasn't 2 twin beds.

Choice of stations on tv was not good but we weren't there to watch tv! The initial service and organisation of staff at the wine tasting was poor but it did improve as the experience continued.

Look, when I tell you this place oozes professionalism, class, efficiency, great ambiance, great food, spa facilities are a must. They even called me long after my stay to check if my spa treatments were not affecting me in any way. Talk about not feeling like a number!! Joseph at Reception made my stay even memorable, so helpful staff!! Love! Love! Love it here... 💛🙏🏽

I had to pay double for breakfast, just because I requested service in the room. This is a reap off, people go to such places to relax and sleep in. Not to be forced to wake-up.
