This hotel is beautiful. The house, the grounds and the surroundings are all stunning. We arrived in the evening and had a transfer arranged via the hotel. This went smoothly and we had a warm welcome. We had pre-ordered dinner and it was great. The service, food and environment were all really good and prices were reasonable. Breakfast was also great. The room (suite) was amazing, the biggest hotel room with the biggest bathroom I've ever seen (there was also a second, smaller bathroom).

Unfortunately u had to let them know if u were having dinner the day before , my friend cancelled as her daughter was sick , so I had to pay for her dinner , plus a whole bottle wine , but I only drank half . The waiter didn’t explain it wasn’t by the glass or there was another option. Also the bedroom & bathroom windows were dirty & the scatter cushions on the bed & chair were dirty. It was ok , I won’t stay there again

Absolutely loved our stay! This boutique hotel was a true gem – stylish, cozy, and full of character. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The highlight was definitely the breakfast – fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious with something for everyone. Every morning felt like a treat! We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special, relaxing stay.

Not much at all.

On arrival at Hoeveld House, staff were quickly on-hand to check us in, provide a welcome drink at that point and show us to our allocated room. Unfortunately, we arrived on a Sunday when the restaurant was not open, but staff were very helpful advising where best to find a good restaurant locally. The property is very well situated for easy access to Sandton City and loads of shopping places and restaurants. As it is situated in Johannesburg, security is always an issue. However, the property boasts an extensive level of security. We decided to leave our vehicle there and use an Uber to move around to go shopping and explore locally. The property boasts 5 well-appointed rooms. Ours was equipped an extra large king-size bed and with a lovely big bath, large enough for two. There was ample hot water and plenty of towels and soap etc on hand. The room also boasted a Nespresso machine for a 'proper' coffee which was very welcome too. We also had a sitting area and two televisions to watch, on in the sitting area and one in the bedroom. Breakfast consisted of a continental option with cereals, fruit and yoghurt, as well as a fully cooked option with a choice of egg. There is also some flexibility should anyone have special requirements. As we had a late flight, a late check-out was requested and graciously granted although this may not always be possible, depending on whether the room is required for new guests coming in. In terms of service, nothing was too much to ask. All the staff were keen and eager to help or to answer questions and provide advice. The Manager, Andrew was lovely and is able to help make bookings for tours and visits to other places in the area should you require. Overall, we would definitely stay there again. If you are looking for a very secure, very quiet place to stay with good links to local restaurants and shopping facilities, then consider staying at Hoeveld House!

Hoeveld House is exceptional. The accommodation is truly beautiful and luxurious. The grounds are stunning and the staff an absolute delight. Now that it is on my radar, it will be where I stay in Johannesburg. Highly recommend.

The whole house is beautifully furnished with individuality in each room. The gardens were gorgeous to walk about in. We really enjoyed the breakfast as the menu was varied and all items superbly cooked. The owner and staff were very welcoming and helpful with suggestions for restaurant suggestions etc. This will be our chosen place to stay on all our future visits to Jo-burg, so glad we found it!

Absolutely stunning accommodation! The rooms were spacious, and one of them appeared to have been freshly painted. The garden surrounding the property was beautiful, with lovely birds adding to the peaceful atmosphere. It was so enjoyable that we ended up spending the entire evening relaxing by the garden and enjoying the pool view. A highlight was the mild weather—even in winter, it wasn’t cold. The breakfast was homemade, with a limited selection, but everything was delicious. The staff were incredibly supportive and friendly. It’s also important to mention that the place felt very safe, with security present on-site. The hotel itself is just a few minutes’ drive from Mandela Square, which is full of great restaurants. Secure parking was also provided.

Johannesburg carrying a bit of a scary reputation, we are so happy to have chosen this property for a leisure stay while waiting for our return international flight. This property is very luxury, with very high security and a magnificence garden, pool, and outdoor rest area. Suitable for both business and travel guests. As our flight was at midnight, Andrew the very efficient and kind manager allowed us to hang around later then the official check out, a favor that we did not take for granted, but fully appreciated. Prince was also very professional, helpful with all our needs...including cooking a marvelous dinner on location for us. What can we say more, maybe that we could happily have stayed 3 or 4 days on location just to unwind, either upon arrival of a long flight, or in preparation for the next one? Thanks to both of you Andrew and Price for such a wonderful last stop in our brilliant African experience. ps: ask the property to refer you to a secure taxi co. Aubrey and Igor were also top of class.

The hotel doesn’t have facilities like a restaurant or bar which we knew but it did feel a bit like an empty house. Would be good if staff had a bit more presence, shared information, had some music playing or something! Breakfast was good but again very quiet.

We struggled to find a plug with South African features to charge our equipment. most of the plugs are two-prong.

The place has a homely feel but still provides you with privacy. The quiet and calmness of the garden helps you to relax. The staff is exceptional and the place provides a safety.
