The cottage was further from Knysna that I expected so you do need to be prepared with groceries etc.

The cottage was so nicely decorated, with a fantastic view. Perfect for days lounging and reading a book. The bathroom was gorgeous and the rooms were really comfortable and well furnished. This felt like a luxury stay.

There’s nothing not to like… but must like the odd visit from the wonderful dogs on the property!

If you want to be in the middle of nature, on the borders of a legendary forest, with the sounds of baboons barking in the distance and the scarlet and red flashes of the Knysna Loerie flying past your windows, this is your place. Absolute quiet but for the birds, views to the back of beyond and cottage comforts.

A treat for eyes and ears - this is a little piece of paradise. Lovely warm people, exquisite interiors and delightful outside space/gardens. We also enjoyed meeting all the beautiful dogs and listening to the baboons get settled down in the forest for the night. We wish we had stayed more than one night. Big thanks to Hannes & DP.

Nothing was out of place. Great cottage and views. Awesome shower and bathroom. Hannes contacted beforehand and was waiting at the gate to check us in. We enjoyed the facilities and the views. The attention to detail on the furnishings and the old retro art deco finishes was awesome. The slow combustion stove was great for the afternoon chills and rainy weather.

The most beautiful cottage in magical settings. It was like having a piece of the Garden Route all to yourself. I brought my Golden Retriever who had a grassy courtyard all to himself. Even though you know there are people and staff around, you never actually see them. Lovely bedding and a perfect kitchen. The little market on the road has everything you need for making delicious meals.

It's a pearl located next to the forest. The garden and the cottages are designed and decorated in a unique way. It felt like home and there are so many places in the garden and the surroundings to explore. Daniel was very friendly and helpful. We would definitly like to come back one day.

everything felt so considered. from the linen to the curated art on the walls to the fresh flowers and stacked wood for both the indoor fire and outside Weber. the outside deck is the perfect place to read and listen to the forest sounds. The rooms are so lovely and dark at night with no light pollution. The outside bath amongst the spearmint and delicious monsters was a treat. the kitchen is well appointed and we were able to prep and cook and plate delicious meals over the festive season. Our hosts who live on the premises popped in to welcome us and Hannes and DP personally delivered a beautiful homemade Christmas tree to us on Christmas Eve. The garden is designed with indigenous plants and trees to give the cottage privacy on the premises. Location is adjacent to the goudveld state forest that we rode and hiked in daily. Being pet friendly meant we could have our dog with us with who integrated well with the friendly dogs loving on the premises. We loved out 6 night stay and hope to find a gap in the diary to go back soon.
