The vistas at Head Over Hills are truly breathtaking and remain timeless. The infinity pool is exceptional, and the cuisine is delightful. The staff members are exceptionally accommodating, ensuring that all our needs were met. I’m certainly coming back here for my next Knysna visit!

I LOVED the croissants...they are Devine. Dinner was fine, but the menu is limited. For a small establishment I got to understand why the dinner menu was so limited in choice.

The sea and mountain views were amazing. It's also very secluded. The staff were friendly and easy to get along with. We will definitely be rebooking again :)

Rooms could do with some revamping to make them more modern.

Perfectly situated with Breathtaking views every single day. The staff were super polite and attended to all requests. Food was great too.

The retreat sets itself up as high end so any review has to be against that aspiration and of course the price. High end should be seen in everything not just the view and the food. We booked the viewpoint room but had to move because the bed wasn’t ’large’ by the standard we are used to and we knew we would wake each other up. The only way to get a large double bed was the suites which are classed as extra large. This is a problem sometimes with booking.com definitions and photos that don’t give you a clear indication. The room we used was classed as the same size but wasn’t as it had less in it but was still cluttered. Our choice but the description didn’t help. Fortunately we were the only visitors so we didn’t have to spend time in the double room but if it was full we wouldn’t have enjoyed it. The shower could have done with a really good clean. Hind end should be sparkling with no sign of grime in the grout etc. the shower also tended to flood the bathroom. The bathroom has the standard ‘help us save water’ sign which is great but the shower has two taps instead of a mixer so takes a while to get the temperature you want. Temperature and pressure fluctuated and as we were the only ones there that can’t be a function of local water controls. The bathroom looks stylish but isn’t so private in reality so if that matters look hard at the photos.

This is a very stylish property situated on the edge of the cliff giving it tremendous views of the ocean. The staff were kind and helpful and looked after us without hovering over our shoulders. Dinner was excellent and the cook does a great job. The wine list is excellent as the owner has amassed a great collection of South African wine (with a few French and American thrown in). Dinner will be more expensive than a lot of South Africa but it’s excellent food with great wine and a wonderful view. Overall this is a wonderful view in a great location, with good food and lovely staff.

Views of the Indian Ocean, breakfast, Tranquillity during the day (once all the noise has settled from the cleaning)

Very classy place that could be cleaner...the wooden blinds need touch ups and regular dust removal n polish. The skirting the same especially on the bed sides...I suffer allergies, dust annoys me. There is no need to start cleaning around 7am while guests are sleeping, very noisy and quite annoying. The shower water mixer needs serious attention. I burnt quite a few times as the cold water one if very dysfunctional. ANNOYING for a place of that high perceived class. Breakfast was A MA ZI NG

The type of bed/ mattress used. Room was kinda small Least privacy through balconies. Having a screen/wall that give privacy to each room balcony would be nice. It’s not nice to be watching that beautiful view with other people in your face.

The views that are to die for. Staff friendliness. Their “attention to detail” ability. The food was good.
