For about 24 years, we have been visiting Clarens annually. One of our best experiences was at Gypsy Guesthouse. The friendly reception, neat colourful and well-equipped rooms, and owners (Shane) who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. When we had to leave earlier due to illness and our teenagers wanted to stay longer, an extra free day was offered out of empathy for them. We will certainly want the privilege of staying at Gypsy Guesthouse again; we can recommend it with confidence.

The few hundred meters to the place is not fit for small vehicles.

Friendly staff, nice place. With our sport vehicles the small dirt road is not so nice. In future we will rather use a bakkie or SUV

Shane kept in touch all the time. Gave us great information of everything there is to do in the area. Every day they loaded the basket with wood to light the fire. The staff were amazing. The room was very comfortable and the whole place is beautifully decorated. Will definitely be back!

From the moment we arrived we were received in a friendly welcoming way. We were showed around our room and the property and even welcomed into their home to see their puppies. Our card declined during the booking and even that was not a problem. The room was super clean and spacious and there was sherry waiting for us with this cold weather. Definitely value for money! We will certainly be back!!!

We had trouble with Netflix but it wasn't much of an issue since we mostly wanted quiet and peace and just catching up

The staff was very friendly. The place itself is like....heaven. there's such a lovely energy about the place..it's just amazing. It's clean and very well kept. Definitely going back.

The atmosphere and experience of the surroundings were awesome. I took a walk around the property, and I was in awe. The surroundings were fine, the wagons magnificent and my room was perfect.

Parking was a bit tight when there is a lot of people staying but not a train smash!

The room was beautiful! The kitchenette and bathroom was well equipped and clean. The bed is so comfortable I wanted to bring it home with me! Loved it!!

We were there for 2 nights. If you have a (much) longer stay, then maybe you'll miss some space, like a decent wardrobe or a table/chair for example.

We stayed in one of the rooms (Magenta). Lovely, tranquil spot, with very friendly hosts. The garden is lovely and creates privacy between the different rooms/wagons. Overall it had a really nice feel to it! Clarens is a nice and friendly town, everything in walkin distance. We did a hike in Clarens Nature Reserve, very worth while! And of course visit Golden Gate Highlands NP when you're there.
