Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaThe location is second to none, incredible ocean and mountain vistas almost wherever you look, but what really made this experience something special are the staff, they are attentive, engaging and friendly. What really struck me about the staff is how much they actually care about your experience, always asking “can I help you with x” or “we can do y if that’s better for you” etc without skipping a beat!

United StatesIt didn’t feel like good value — at $1500 USD per night, felt like we were being nickeled and dimed on things like included dinner but charged for a glass of wine. Service was also impersonal for a luxury place and the price. We were not told in advance about tour options, and there was a lot of confusion over the breakfast situation since we had a whale watching tour the next morning. They eventually packed a to go breakfast, which was fantastic, but the staff made it feel like it was an unreasonable request and a big hassle. There is a pool and a few short walking trails but not a lot to do on the property otherwise and you have to drive an hour into Hermanus. So a great place for a romantic few days as a getaway. Not so great if you’re trying to tour the area
Incredible views and amazing design. The cottage was very well thought out with a living room, separate bedroom, and connecting outdoor space. Facilities were very thoughtful — outlets everywhere, functional bathroom, etc. Food was very good.
