We enjoyed the breakfast and also had a fine dinner on one of the evenings. Our room was a garden suite with a mini-kitchen which was both spacious and comfortable. Staff were great - friendly and attentive and well-trained to make one feel at home.

Bedrooms need fresh decor and pillows. The bottled water was not free in the rooms while all 4 and 5 stars do due to the water quality. The rest was very beautiful. The staff are very quick to help at any time. Great breakfast!!!

Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Lovely house and patio where you can book supper and breakfast. Gorgeous pool with loungers on the great.

Drinks were only available at 7pm in the lounge before dinner unless you go to reception and ring a bell. There was no bar and no pool service. The food was nothing like the website pictures so somewhat disappointing. Overall definitely not as described or 5 star standard.

Location and the room size were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was nice but not as described on the website or gourmet.

Pool could have been cleaner and drinking water should be free on a daily basis. Noise from road nearby can be heard so if you need tranquility then maybe this is not the place to stay.

Lovely staff and good location although very close to a busy road and noise from road is heard. Nice pool which wasn’t too cold but needed more thorough cleaning as had many leaves and bits of debris from garden…also work being done on edge of pool for at least 2 days. Breakfast was good and served fresh. All water and food products in room had to be paid for. Nice products available to use in bathroom.

The building itself is some years old and I seem to remember only goes up two floors. However, there are no lifts. Whilst this was not a problem for me personally, it might be an issue for the more elderly guests. That said, I would not be at all surprised if there are helpful staff available to carry your luggage for you.

Glen Avon Lodge is an old-fashioned boutique hotel located in a beautiful part of Constantia. It is peaceful and surrounded by well-kept gardens. Unfortunately I was there for only one night, so my review won’t be that helpful, but I feel it is the sort of place where you should stay for a few days to really enjoy the facilities to the full.

Everything was fine

Big, comfortable rooms, kept clean and welcoming by the friendly staff. Glen Avon is in a safe and excellent location for getting around Cape Town. For those who want somewhere in walking distance to eat or get a drink I’d also recommend the Peddlars pub a stone’s throw away

Such a well taken cared of property. All is so so pretty and staff is so nice!!!! Situated in Constantia and amazing to discover the city. Views of table mountain while falling asleep and waking up!! Wow !!!

Great location - quiet, beautiful area with easy access to main roads for exploring Cape Town. Delicious breakfasts with eggs freshly cooked to order. Lovely to have a microwave, crockery, cutlery in the room for days you don't want to eat out.

The breakfast was great and so was the service.The people are super very friendly and welcoming. The garden even in winter is lovely.

Breakfast was the same every day and it would have been nice to have some more variety. The pool water was too cold so we could not use it.

It was a beautiful and quiet location with a nice garden, clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was served outside whenever the weather allowed it. It was freshly prepaired. Staff and owner were all superfriendly.

We had room 4, next to the lawn, which is more a small holiday house than a room. With a big bedroom and a huge bathroom, terrace with seating out front. Not only breakfast, but dinner is also possible. And it is very good! Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Only filter coffee at breakfast and not enough milk for tea in the rooms. The pillows were too hard.

When it was good weather we sat on the terrace for breakfast. We didn’t eat dinner in the evening. Good location for getting around CT and felt safe

Air-con broke down in one of our 4 rooms. Unable to repair it and had to order a part.

Staff went out of their way to do extra for us! They brought us wrapping paper when we needed it, helped with all our bags and were always pleasant and professional at the same time.

The water in the swimming pool was cold.

Great to have breakfast on the property! Very good breakfast and the staff went out of their way to be helpful, friendly and make us comfortable. Beauty, Chipo, Tobias and Male were always there for us!
