Beautiful views all day, perfect stoep to enjoy the scenery from sunrise to sunset! The remoteness of the cabin allows for a quiet, peaceful getaway but with all the comforts you may need for a 'home away from home' experience. The beds were exceptionally comfy and the electric blankets and indoor fireplace on a cold night were great, the kitchen is fully equipped and the friendly assistance and attention to detail from the host was a brilliant. The accommodation is centrally located with lots to explore in the area, just sad the weather was too rainy for us to make use of the hot tub. Would highly recommend Fynbosrust, would love to visit again and stay longer. Just a side note - the road to the cabin is of good quality even in rainy weather, but since it's quite a bumpy terrain in certain parts (rockface&gravel) a higher rise vehicle would be best.

We loved everything. A total gem for an escape into nature, surrounded by mountains, fynbos, and birds. Our host Carin was superb. The cottage has everything you need. The view was outstanding. 20 out of 10.

in case you only have a small sedan car the way to Fynbosrust is a bit tricky, but for higher clearance cars it is no problem.

Fynbosrust is an extraordinary luxury selfcatering house with 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. It's like a home faraway from home - fully equipped with all you need and very comfy beds. The views from the deck and the house itself with huge glass fronts are phantastic. This place is for those, who wants to relax and having a pieceful break from hectic life or just want to spend some days with family or friends. Only 2 km away - so walking distance - is the Gin destillery Monks, making also lovely cocktails. We can highly recommend a stay at Fynbosrust!!

I would have liked to get a clear instruction to not go by normal car. There was no way a normal car would have made it. We got stuck at the beginning of the path.

Great scenery and very well equipped property. Spacious and very tranquil. A lovely spot to visit for some de-stress. Getting there was a mission. A normal car and even a crossover will not get there due to the terrain. A SUV or best 4x4 is needed.

The road leading to the cabin was a bit tricky, especially if you have a low profile car. If there's one thing missing it's a plunge pool or hot tub (wood fire). This addition would complete the spot.

The location was spectacular! Amazing views! The cottage is hidden in the mountains and you really feel immersed in the veld. Beautifully appointed with all the comforts you need. Carin,the host, was always available and super friendly and helpful.

There was nothing not to like!

You could not ask for a more indulgent stay. Everything has been thought about and supplied - from the exquisite bedding down to the generous welcome drinks and ready stacked fireplace that awaits you. It is a true escape. The privacy is absolute and the views are magnificent. We loved the little animals that came to visit each day. Our host was warm and attentive and preempted our questions before we needed to ask.

The house could only be accessed through a closed road with a boom/barrier that needed to be opened manually which was a bit of a hassle, and the road is mostly a gravel path that isn't convenient for every car, but you also had an off-the-grid experience because of this! I would do groceries upfront and just stay in the house (and hike around it) during your stay!

Being English, we can’t use wood bbq’s…so a portable gas Weber would be good!

The house was extremely well presented , and beautifully furnished. The beds were comfortable and the bed linen and towels of a very high quality. Constant hot water and a big gas stove. The peace and quiet was breath taking, the mountain views were stunning. Carin was extremely helpful and informative.

We have booked many houses through Booking.com, locally and globally, where we have been able to make use of the number of beds in the house, 4 in this case. Here, we had to pay R1 000 extra to use the 2nd bedroom - normally the case when booking guesthouses or hotels which we expect.

Fynbosrust was one of the best stays we had in a long while! The location is amazing, and we were impressed with the many kind touches, and attention to detail. The cottage was beautiful, and really comfortable. Carin the host was very communicative, and cant thank her enough for a simple awesome stay! Would definitely visit again.
