One thing to note: During our stay, the Wi-Fi wasn’t working, but that was due to very rainy weather and definitely not the fault of the hosts. We actually didn’t mind being offline—it made it easier to unplug and enjoy the quiet.

We recently stayed in Earth Rose Cottage at Forest Valley Cottages and absolutely loved our time there. From the moment we arrived, the panoramic views of the Knysna forest and the majestic Outeniqua Mountains took our breath away—just as the listing promises. The cottage features a luxurious hydro/tub-style hot tub (perfect for two), and curling up in its warmth while looking out over the valley was a daily highlight. We stayed warm and cozy thanks to the wood-burning fireplace, and the fully equipped kitchenette made it easy to prepare anything from a hearty breakfast to a romantic dinner. Evening meals on the private deck were a delight, enhanced by the braai area and hammock—ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine while taking in the crisp fresh air. The open-plan shower and spacious bathroom, with candlelight and thoughtful bath goodies, added a sweet touch of luxury. Imagine not having to close any curtains and being able to wake up to the most beautiful sunrise. Watching this sunrise through floor-to-ceiling windows with a forest surrounding your cabin and breathtaking views. And if you're cold, you lit the fireplace and within 20min the cabin is heated and cozy and warm. That's what you'll get with this place. Cozy and warm with breathtaking views and hiking trails that start next to the cabin and privacy and tranquility at its finest!!!! Absolute gem of a place, winter or summer!!!!!!

The view is something breathtaking. It was spotless clean every day we put up the service board and we left for the day, and the fire ash were cleaned and new wood was packed for fire. It was perfect.

We went to the Forest Valley Cottages for our honeymoon, and WOW what an amazing experience. Waking up to the most beautiful views every morning! Drinking our coffee on the patio as the world wakes up filled with bird songs. Then enjoying a glass of champagne in the hot tub whilst listening to the sounds of the night. We will definitely visit again.

We loved everything.

Everything. The views, the quiet, how the room was clean everyday and even how thoughtful they were to turn on the hot tub so the water would be warm when we came back later in the day. It was a beautiful experience for our honeymoon.

The beautiful view and the quietness of the place are definitely a 10! We booked the Earth Rose Cottage and it’s definitely home away from home!! The lovers spot on the hiking trail? Was definitely a hit! This place is a must go for lovers!
