We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

South AfricaSome of the towels were old and torn and the location is next to the Oceans mall where a lot of construction is currently taking place. If you like exercise then you will not mind the walk to the beach and back, but otherwise it can get tough because of the steap uphill climb.
The staff were really friendly, helpful and accommodating and the place is clean and the rooms very comfortable.

South AfricaThe only thing that annoyed me was not in their control - the Woolworths nearby continued to be loading something (continuous banging noises until midnight on Friday).
Breakfast was great - exactly as stated, there was fruit, yoghurt, cereal and I was given my cooked breakfasts to my exact specifications (fried eggs and sausage on Saturday and a mushroom omelette on Sunday). I was impressed that they had filter coffee as well as juice and tea. It was only three minutes walk from the location to a small Mall for supper and 5 minutes from the main beach.

South AfricaThe TV did not work the day we arrived. A working TV was brought in the next day, however the Netflix box didn't work, and had to wait 3 days for that, mainly due to public holidays as we travelled over Christmas. Towels were old. Extractor fan in bathroom did not work. There was no hairdryer, although I never needed one, it should be taken off the list as an amenity. While I understand and have stayed in some dated accommodation, or even new accommodation where something didn't work, it seems that this accommodation is in need of some TLC and repairs. Most of their reviews with high numbers come from 2017 and 2018. After the initial hiccup, the remainder of the stay was problem free.
The breakfast was good, lots of options, cereals, baked goods, fruit salad, yoghurts, full cooked breakfast, several options. The location is good, just a bit hard to find the first time. 2 blocks from the Umhlanga beach & promenade. 1 block from 2 big malls, restaurants etc. We travelled with 2 dogs, and that was no extra charge. The staff were kind, friendly and accommodating. Very nice modern bathroom. Everything was clean, and cleaned daily.

South AfricaTowels and bedding spoil the whole room. The smell of towels was horrible and the holes in it aren't 4 star at all. Personally I feel if stay long period bedding needs to be change every second day my child spill hot chocolate and for 9 days they need to sleep on the bedding. It cost our money to buy proper towels to dry and wash for the stay. The wifi signal are very poor at late afternoons everyday we couldn't watch Netflix's - No TV available NO signal. Closest was still full of rubbish " PADS papers:" Menu was outdated no croissants, muffins etc. was surfed Overall I don't think this is 4 star !

South Africafor the breakfast - tea layout very substandard- tea cups/ bowls ect need an upgrade. I chose the beef sausages, my sister chose pork - both looked the same and tasted like soya sausages. When we entered the room, it smelt damp and fishy. The smart TV didnt work well- either connectivity or batteries need to be changed. The Shower floor was grimy
The kitchen and cleaning staff were hospitable and friendly. the location was excellent as we could walk to the beach and to the mall.

South AfricaI found the breakfast lacking imagination and creativity, especially the omelette option. No variation in terms of what is offered and simple things like onion, avocado, peppers - not available. I feel if the manager, put a little effort in supervising and training the staff, this would improve. The bedding is old - towels are old - the sliding door (in the bedroom) leads to a dirty terrace - oh gosh! the common room (welcoming area) could do with some attention to make it feel more welcoming and inviting to sit and read a book or something.
I have been to this B&B a number of times in the past and have always remembered it with fondness - which is why I booked the stay even now. I'm afraid the standard has gone down there really isn't much to enjoy or like

South AfricaRooms are stuffy and smelly due to dampness. Toilets stink and have a bad odour despite being cleaned I suspect plumbing sewer problem. Poor ventilation due to few windows. It is located at the back of Oceans Malls which is under construction, views are bad and unsightly
Sam is friendly and she tried her best to move my daughters to another room but even the other room had a bad odour . Good friendly staff.
