Staying in this beautiful, very well equipped cottage was a treat. We loved everything about it, especially the spacious deck with incredible views of mountains in every direction, the peace and quiet of the nature reserve, the comfortable bed, great shower and indoor fireplace. We booked this gem for the Easter holidays and had the best relaxing getaway one could have.. The views are absolutely amazing, the terrace offers a 360 view, it was so tranquil and breathtaking that it felt like a real mini holiday. Love the artsy deco and style, very friendly host. Appreciated not to be rushed on checkout. Will definitely be back

What a beautiful experience. My husband and I had a weekend away, and it was the most homey and serene places we've been too. The place has soo much character, locked away in the most peaceful place. The host adds such special touches and always keeps in touch if you're in need of anything. She's one of the most attentive hosts I've ever had. The kitchen is awesome and fully stocked. Some electricity challenges in the neighbouring area left us without power for the last day but was beyond anyone's control. Mel communicated updates on the situation frequently, which we appreciated.

Mel is an exceptional host, providing detailed directions, instructions for checking in, as well as weather details for the area during our stay. The most beautiful chalet in a stunning private nature reserve, with views to die for. Early morning sunrise and evening sunsets on the deck were spectacular. The chalet kitchen is very well equipped and extra bedding made for cosy evenings. An overall wonderful location!

We did not mind it, but the spot is pretty remote: without your own car it is hard to get there. There are a dozen other cottages on the fenced terrain as well, but most were not occupied when we were there. We missed a map of the area and/or an overview of hiking paths, so that would be a suggestion. It was an exceptional experience to stay a few days in this beautiful place.

Comfortable and uniquely located cottage in the mountains of a private nature reserve. Ideal for two couples as it contains two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Beautifully furnished with lots of art, complete kitchen, wonderful balcony all around the cottage with precious views on the valley and surrounding mountains. Splash pool is an asset. The owner was very helpful and communicated well.

We have never experienced a Host so involved from way before we even arrived at the Chalet. Mel kept us in the loop of weather changes that may have affected our car type rental, of traffic jams that could have delayed us by 2 hrs en route to the rehearsal dinner, and even entertained my odd requests about working irons, carrot peelers and sharp scissors. We got detailed written instructions on how to find the chalet and once we arrived, she checked in constantly to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We absolutely loved the 180 degree views of the valley, the dams, the bird life and fynbos from our balcony veranda, the pool with even more stunning views of the mountainous area & ever changing colour skies, and the well thought through + fully stocked up, relaxing & homey interior of the chalet.

The cabin is a haven away from all the noise and chaos of daily life. Peaceful, relaxing, views to match no other. The bird life is exquisite with plenty of mountain walks and routes to explore the surrounds. A big bonus was the WIFI which is perfect for kiddies, the odd unwanted but necessary weekday online meeting and some night time Netflix streaming. Melinda was the perfect host who treasures her beautiful property. You can feel it is a well loved home.
