Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Facilities were great & everything within easy walking distance. Views over the waterhole whilst eating breakfast were gorgeous. A short walk to the viewing deck is a lovely relaxing treat with animals close by.

United KingdomNothing I can think of.
Absolutely superb, the location was great overlooking a waterhole. Very tastefully decorated. Loved that it is a small lodge with max of 10 guests. The rooms were extremely spacious and comfortable with lovely decks with comfortable chairs. The staff were all efficient and friendly. The food was very good. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather so breakfast and lunch were catered for outside on the main deck. The pool area was gorgeous, pool towels and even sun lotion was available. Everywhere was well looked after, neat and quiet. Of course the main reason for visiting was for the game and this didn’t disappoint. We had Stephanie as a guide and she was incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and a lovely sense of humour. The game drives were twice a day and the reserve is so diverse in vegetation so always changing. Lovely sightings and even when the game was hiding Stephanie always found something interesting to show us. Coffee stop in the morning and a sundowner stop on the afternoon drive. Very casual, relaxed and informal atmosphere. Definitely will return. Thank you to Steve, Stephanie, Rene and all the staff for a memorable couple of days.

South AfricaJust a suggestion: no water bottles were given during the game drive. You could fill your own. Very happy with that idea. Instead of small shower gel, shampoo bottles that are also plastic , have a big bottle that is attached in the bathroom in the shower etc, bath etc that can be re filled
It’s a small lodge, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and very spacious.

AustraliaI am originally from South Africa and have travelled the country quite extensively in the past, I thought the signage and explanation's from the locals and gate staff quite poor for a foreign visitor travelling on their own.I think the main issue as a foreign tourist is getting to and from your location.
The staff, food and facilities were great

LuxembourgUnfortunately, the pillows in the room were dirty when we arrived, which was disappointing given the overall quality of the property. While most of the staff were friendly, one of the team members made me feel uncomfortable when I asked for a toast with my egg, which shouldn’t have been an issue.
Stephanie, our game drive guide, was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, calm, and ensured we had an incredible experience. We saw so much in just two drives. The room was absolutely stunning, with a thoughtful and elegant design that made the stay feel special.

BelgiumNo complaints. For me personally every day room cleaning is unnecessary and also not making my bed twice a day (I napped for 30-60 minutes after a game drive). Because every time I needed to rearrange the bed to my liking. Also towels are hung somewhere else, luckily I was alone but it might be confusing when there’s two people sharing the room.
Charming buildings with great atmosphere and a view on a waterhole that is frequented by all kinds of animals (amongst also giraffes). Great hospitality the staff goes the extra mile to make this an unforgettable experience and you don’t want to leave. The meals were delicious and creative. The rooms were clean, comfortable beds and a great bathroom, I loved the outdoor shower. The gamedrives were awesome we saw plenty of animals, we were lucky to see the big five but were there for three nights so not all on one drive. The ranger was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and she told very interesting background stories. It’s very interesting to learn about how you keep the balance that all the herbivores have their food and there’s an equilibrium with the carnivores too. Also to see and be explained how animals adapt. I made some amazing lion and cheetah pictures. A place you want to return to and see how it develops.

United KingdomThere was nothing to fault
Everything about our stay was exceptional, greeted with welcome drinks and help with luggage and shown to rooms personally. The rooms are clean and spacious and every little detail has been thought of and they are fully serviced whilst you are on the game drive in the morning and turned down on your return in the evening. The game drives were fantastic and Keegan was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about everything he showed us but they were also fun. Snacks and drinks were provided on the drives and hot towels and drinks were ready when we arrived back. The food and service from the staff was great and there are hot drinks, water and biscuits available throughout the day. The grounds of the lodge are beautiful with great views of the waterhole.

AustraliaFrom the moment you arrive to leaving you are treated with Five Star Service. Hot Towels after all game drives including cherry and hot chocolate in the evenings. Our ranger Peter was exceptional with so much knowledge and always looked to take us to find all the animals. We spent our afternoon between drives around the rock pool which was super and the team brought us drinks. The food was fabulous and more than you need. The desserts and dinners were exceptional. Everything was fresh and made from scratch. Our rooms were incredible, clean, huge, comfortable and view to the water hole was so cool and we could often see animals on the horizon. Loved the turn down services, often with roses and candles and the room was serviced in the morning while on the morning game drive which i really liked. There was always snacks and it is a lodge you can have a-lot of privacy and quiet if you want it. I loved the fire place and the dinner setting inside and outside. Assistance with luggage on arrival and departure and always someone on call if you need anything. I would recommend this Accommodation to anyone wanting first class attention to detail. We had a few game drives on our own which was very cool and we were very happy with all our animal sightings, getting to see everything except the elusive leopard. Thank you Elephant Rock for a fabulous 2 night stay and experience in Nambiti.

South AfricaOur guide was relatively inexperienced. She tried hard, but it her inexperience showed. Food was acceptable, not wonderfully special. You are requested to choose your next meal from the day’s menu after each meal, and breakfast at 5am before the morning game drive - not ideal, having either just eaten or woken!
