We had a wonder full time when we visited this lodge. Neil and Val is so helpfull. The breakfasts and the dinners are superb! We where so happy to see so many wild animals passing their garden.

The room would get stuffy at night, maybe because of safety issues there was no cross ventilation. We turned on the fan, to help solve the problem to some extent.

Location was very peaceful and convenient , about 20 mins drive to Crocodile bridge gate that offers excellent sightings. The property is very aesthetically designed. Room was typical bush house, very pleasant and self contained, with a porch from where to watch the numerous kudus, deer, warthogs that visit the premises. The hosts cooked and served some great dishes and were very nice to talk to.

Fabulous Lodge close to Krueger Park for a true safari experience. Wonderful staff and excellent attention to every detail made for us a very comfortable stay. The owners Neil and Val always concerned with every detail to make us feel at home. Our host and knowledgeable guide Neil showed us some amazing African animals on our safari tour - an experience not to be missed!

A Truly Special Stay with Amazing Hosts Neil and Val are a fantastic couple who have created something truly unique with their lodge. The accommodation is full of character and charm, and what made it even more magical were the incredible animals right in the garden—such a rare and unforgettable experience! We instantly felt at home thanks to their warmth and hospitality. It’s clear they genuinely care about their guests. Our time here was amazing, and we left with memories we’ll cherish forever.

My only critique is that our unit didn't have a bathroom door. The toilet is basically right next to the bedroom, behind a little wall. A sliding door to offer more privacy would make the room perfect.

Dream of Africa Bush Lodge is a lovely place to stay to use as a base camp to explore the Kruger National Park. The hosts, Val and Neil, were welcoming, friendly, and informative. The food was amazing. Every night, they served a meat dish and a few incredible vegetable dishes. Val was also kind enough to pack us a breakfast on the morning that we left early to go to the park. The lodge is beautiful and is frequented by kudu, impala, wildebeest, and bush buck. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, with ceiling fans and a strong AC to help against the heat and humidity. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend the lodge.

We had such an amazing stay at Dream of Africa Bush Lodge! Val and Neil are just the best—so friendly, super helpful, and really fun to chat with. We honestly don’t know what we would’ve done without all their tips and help organising tours. And the food? Oh my gosh, it was incredible! The breakfast was massive—I couldn’t believe they packed such a big one for our self-drive safari day. It was such a thoughtful touch and kept us going all day. Dinner was hands down the best meal I had in South Africa—so delicious and exactly what we needed after a long day out. The pool was a lifesaver on those hot days, and having animals wandering around made it all even more special. Huge thanks to Val and Neil for making our stay so wonderful! We’ll never forget it.

There was nothing we did not like - everything was excellent.

The Dream of Africa Bush Lodge is an amazing cozy lodge with 4 rooms. It is very well located in Marloth park within short driving distance to Kruger National Park (Crocodile Gate is only 25 min away). What sets this lodge apart from other lodges is that it is run with great care and love by its owners Val and Neil. They take great care of their guests, are very friendly, super responsive to any kind of questions, very knowledgable about the area with great tips, and the best of all is their home made food - absolutely delicious. If you plan your safari/game drive, contact them first. They have excellent contacts for the best safari tours in Kruger. Overall, we had an amazing time and would always come back!

We struggled a bit with the ideal temperature of our shower - I guess that's more related to the heating system.

This was by far the most personalized stay of our trip through SA. Val & Neil are going the extra mile in making their guests feel at home. Their personalized approach sets them apart from all the rest. Diner and breakfast is being served in the central area of the lodge so you can meet and enjoy the company of other guests. The lodge is not huge though, which makes the overall atmosphere cozy and homely. It is situated at the Marloth park which is right next to Kruger (20 min drive). We booked 3 activities, a morning walk and night drive organized by Kruger and a full day safari led by the owners. The experience of Val & Neil was shown through the animals we were able to spot. Thank you for this wonderful stay, it really made our Kruger experience something to never forget.

Beautiful location. We loved the wildlife, kudu, bushbuck and warthogs visited all day. Val was an incredible hostess. So welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was delicious with a wonderful view of the garden.

Neil and Val were amazing hosts! The Lodge was fantastic and the fact that we had wild game shared the backyard with us around the boma was just special! We selected Dream of Africa because of the aesthetics and ambience we saw which made us feel like we were home again, in the bush, and could share a unique experience with our kids of what we remember the African Bush to be like. Val's attention to assigning us to Neil's safari and then other in-park tours/excursions was just great and took the load off us trying to do that ourselves, and they were all fantastic! And then the evening meals by our hosts were just so traditional with Neil's sharing all his safari and game stories! We felt so at home!

There is nothing not to like about the place.

Val and her husband Neil were very welcoming, we enjoyed a peaceful weekend at their place. The place is lovely and very close to the Kruger. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities that we needed, we were able to braai. Val also assisted us with booking activities for quad biking and a game drive. The breakfast was amazing. We loved every minute that we spent there, we look forward to returning there.
