How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Whilst our dogs were welcomed, there wasn’t really anywhere for them to run around at the property. There was a park close by however. Bath towels were a little hard.
Great, quiet location close to town centre. Big bathroom. Modern property.

TV need to be fitted higher on the wall. Need extra pillows in the bed. Towels in bathroom not on standard. Was very cold small heater didn't help much may be an airconditioner will work better. No soap in the shower and airfreshner in bathroom. Outside parking was a concern. Just positive feedback - we will definitely stay there again.

The glass door and window need to have a curtain or blind for more privacy; and the room is not dark at night. The water pressure in the shower could be better. The two way switch for the stairway light was not working.
No breakfast available. The location is very good.

It might be worth it consider an aircon in summertime, but this was no issue during our stay.
The view, the bathtub, the bathroom, the coffee station was abundant, the large windows. The best of all was the quiet surroundings. Felt like I was sleeping in space.

No personal Interaction with owner. Rather expensive when compared to similar accommodation we used on our tour, I suppose it's a premium for Franschoek. Access door to the stairs was difficult to open and close.
Very clean, well appointed and comfortable accommodation. Close to the town centre.

Beautiful apartment, well decorated, comfortable, very clean and well located. The host was very responsive and welcoming. It’s a high standard property with everything one needed for a comfortable stay. The only negative point is that it was too bright as it lacked enough curtains to cover all glass windows.

The location is beautiful and quiet and close to town without feeling busy. The cottage is beautifully built and decorated, and the tea trolley and fridge had a thoughtful selection of good coffee, rusks, water and even a welcoming chocolate. The bed is very comfortable. My only comment would be to please add two standard pillows to the king pillows provided. It's a personal preference to sleep with two.

A great stay. We loved the apartment. It is well equipped, very comfortable, and the photos do not do it justice. Good location, a very peaceful neighborhood and only 10 mins walk to town. Would recommend!

Several windows did not have coverings so it was very bright in the morning and felt like it could be seen into from the outside. And there were a few ants.
Big room and bathroom. Large bed and very comfortable. The coffee, tea, water, rusks and chocolate provided were lovely.

The Appartement is wonderful and well equipped. Thank you for the Swiss chocolate and the nice fresh flowers in the room. I like these small extras and was very happy with the room. Everything in town was in walking distance. Thank you.

Host was nice and helpful. Location good, 5 mins walk to the centre. Lovely modern apartment and very clean. Had a fridge with milk and water and were left a chocolate bar which were nice touches. Coffee and tea there too. Would definitely stay again

Everything was perfect!
Exceeding our expectations with more amenities, more space than seen on photos. Definitely not only a "Comfortable Room"! Beautiful, modern, clean and quiet. Marcelle was so welcoming - wonderful home baked rusks, chocolates, etc. awaiting us!
