Loved the location and property - really a stunning venue. The service, food was amazing and really nothing to complain about. The only reason I gave them 4/5 was due to our aircon that didn’t work. Excellent landscape and view from the bedroom, woodburning stove very atmospheric. Knowledgeable helpful guide to view flowers in Biedouw valley. Food was excellent, staff very friendly and accomodating.

Everything was exceptional.

When I booked the room I noted that it was my Husband's birthday. When we returned to our room from dinner there was a birthday cake for him and a candlelit bubble bath drawn. The room, staff, and meals were exceptional. They have free activities (bicycle riding, guided tours, stargazing etc.) available at no additional cost.

Great location with wonderful views. Beautiful room with a very comfy bed, relaxing terrace. Lovely bathroom with additional outside shower. Lots of nice shower gels, etc. The Staff were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. There are lots of things to do, other than relaxing. They have organised trips, a Spa, plus bikes to hire with trails and walking routes. The stocked bar fridge and treats in the room were a nice touch. The water bottles with our name on were a lovely surprise.

A peaceful, luxurious retreat in a stunning setting We had an incredible stay at Simbavati Cederberg Ridge. From the moment we arrived (late in the evening), we were warmly welcomed and looked after, even being offered dinner before check-in. The whole experience felt thoughtful and well-organised from the start. We were lucky to be upgraded to a Superior Pool Suite, which was spacious, beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. The private terrace, heated pool, double bathrooms, and both indoor and outdoor showers made it feel like a true luxury experience. Housekeeping was excellent—our room was refreshed promptly whenever we stepped out, and laundry service was quick and efficient. The setting is quiet and remote, ideal for fully switching off. The decor is modern and elegant, and the whole lodge has a calm, peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge. Food was excellent, with high-quality breakfast and dinner included (we had half board). There was a good variety of options, including daily specials, and the service in the restaurant was consistently great. We didn’t try any of the hikes or tours, but the spa treatments were lovely—the massage and pedicure left us feeling totally relaxed. The team were outstanding throughout—friendly, attentive, and proactive. A special thank you to Christian at reception and the restaurant staff who went out of their way to make our stay feel special. One really thoughtful gesture was returning to our room to find a candlelit bath run for us on our final night.

We'd booked full board and activities, not knowing how it would work and not wanting to miss anything. In retrospect, it may have been better to sign up to activities as desired as many are weather dependent, and of course dependent upon how one feels on the day. Area outside at the end of our room (#11) needs tidying up a little.

Everything! We had a beautiful room (#11) with a private plunge pool, privacy, and that view out over the mountains. Truly pinch yourself moment waking up to the sun rising over the mountains. Peace and tranquillity. Excellent, discrete, professional service. Good food and wine. Lovely big swimming pool. As others have said, coming back to the room on our last night to find a candlelit bath had been run for us is just one indictor of the attention to personal service. Guided walk was a memorable experience with a knowledgeable guide.

Such a lovely property, sublime location, plenty of activities to join in, really great food and the best swimming pool of our trip. We especially loved sitting on the terrace for evening meal watching the sun changing the surrounding hills to an orange glow. It was very hot when we visited ( 40 degrees… dry heat) so we didn’t attempt any of the activities that involved a lot of walking!

Peaceful, tranquil, luxurious - and wonderful staff. Beautiful views Particular thank you to David for an informative walk to view the rock art, as well as a wonderful trip to Lamberts Bay. All the staff in the lodge were fantastic - Christian, Marcus, Gerald and wonderful restaurant team Jeffrey, Jojo, Andrea and Vuyokazi, as well as several others who we didn’t meet but were in the background.

Its a very dreamy OUT OF AFRICA situation. Very tasteful decorated. Two top pools. Great indoor and outdoor shower. Beautiful dining and reception area.
