    Too noisy renovation in the hotel

    🍽️ A Note on Dining at Cape Grace Hotel — When Time is Forgotten It’s not fair to hold a guest accountable for a rhythm they didn’t compose, or a culture they never rehearse To sit in one of Cape Town’s most iconic hotels — the beautiful Cape Grace — and wait 40 minutes for someone to take your order, then nearly an hour more for the food to arrive, with no apology, no follow-up, no flicker of accountability… that isn’t “grace.” That’s a slow erosion of hospitality, masked as elegance. South Africa is a treasure — wild in nature, warm in people, and rich in flavors. But the soul of true hospitality lies not only in luxury surroundings, but in the respect shown to the guest’s time, energy, and presence. It’s one thing to savor a slow meal when it’s woven with care. It’s another to feel forgotten — like your presence is a background detail, not a moment that matters. This isn’t about speed. It’s about intention. About that gentle, invisible thread that connects kitchen to table, guest to host, moment to memory. When that thread breaks, so does the experience. 👉🏼 We don’t need fast food — we need mindful service. We don’t expect perfection — but we do hope for acknowledgment.     Location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the Cape, the breakfast was excellent, good choice of hot & cold selections & service was swift & staff always very pleasant & helpful. Bed was very comfortable & the room was clean & serviced well. We also had dinner one evening at the Heirloom restaurant which was excellent, with good choices & good wine list.All round very lovely hotel with exceptional service & staff thanks very much.

    There was nothing we “didn’t like”.

    Wonderful location, amazing furnishings/decor and the most helpful staff! All so friendly and wanting to do anything to make your stay enjoyable. Such beautiful people. The food was excellent as well. Loved how many healthy options there were at the breakfast buffet including the various health powders and juices / tonics. Also loved the Le Labo toiletries!

    The menu is too small :( there is no food served late at night, very few dinner options on the menu and no breakfast options. You have to go down stairs for breakfast which ends quite early too. When on holiday some people prefer to sleep in so adding breakfast and more dinner options to the menu would really work well and round off the whole experiences. Not to mention downstairs booking a dinner at the restaurant, when handed the menu it’s the exact same as the lunch menu we had that day. Very disappointing:( we would look forward to returning if the food options were just upgraded

    The property is absolutely amazing. The ambiance is incredible, the location is so central, we felt so safe with such great security checks through the property. The room is so clean, the towels are amazing and bed linen. The harbour and Mountain View side is just perfect. We would definitely stay here again especially if they upgraded the menu selection

    Modern, elegant, and the epitome of class!! The newly refurbished hotel is exceptional! I will, without a doubt, visit again. From the doorman, concierge, waitresses, chefs - the staff are warm, welcoming and simply outstanding!

    please get a generator so TV and WiFi work during load-shedding. crazy that it doesn’t exist given the cost

    The ladies cleaning the rooms . One specifically, Saturday 14January2023 , at 12:00 . Left us with wet towels , no toilet paper and took my shopping bags I put away to use later . ( if I wanted to throw them away I would’ve put it in the dustbin? ) it just wasn’t great , nothing was cleaned , she wasn’t very friendly when we approached the room . It was disappointing.

    The staff members were very helpful and friendly . The breakfast was also very nice .

    understand that load shedding is a problem.. but inconvenient when you can’t dry your hair or charge your device in the room .. maybe you could offer battery banks
