We had an amazing time at canyon west villa with our four children aged 12, 9, 9 and 7. Erna and Andre were amazing hosts. We arrived late afternoon and Erna had prepared us a fantastic dinner that we all enjoyed. The house was perfect. Very clean, spacious, comfy beds and factastic admosphere!

Helpful to add darkening curtains in one of the larger bedrooms downstairs, like the other bedrooms and living room, to improve sleep quality. Occasional traffic noise early in the morning might wake light sleepers.

Beautiful spacious property with bush babies living in a little house in the ceiling, zebras, monkeys and more animals visit daily. Gorgeous views from the porch and pool. They thought of everything, plus more, for self catering. Great location near Blyde River boating and Panorama Route. Wonderful hosts were very responsive and helpful. We loved everything about it and would love to return!

It really is paradise to stay in this wonderful house and beautiful gardens, surrounded by nature and bird song. The scenery is wonderful surrounded by Blyde Canyon. Andre and Erna were wonderful hosts and so kind to show us and advice on all the adventures we had in and around Kruger. Thank you so much for one of the best holidays we have ever had

The location is good for a stay before/after Kruger and the Blyde river boat trip. Otherwise it’s a bit far from anything else.

My second time in Africa. This is by far the most amazing place I have stayed. Every room in this perfectly laid out villa is tastefully appointed. My whole group was speechless and could not believe this was on our journey. To me it was a stop...Next year it will be incorporated into a lengthened part of the journey. Views were amazing. The hospitality was 5 star.

Andre was extremely warm and welcoming. He went out of his way to show our kids the animals. Everything was neat and clean with everything provided. The estate is secure and the surroundings are beautiful with visiting zebra, antelope and wildebeest and great birding. Thank you for a great stay! The family loved it.

The weather wasn't favorable, we couldn't use the pool or go out ...but it's something we cannot control

I loved everything;the place,the hosts and the environment.They welcomed us and made our stay very comfortable .The place itself exceeded our expectations, it was very good and felt at home . My family and I enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.

The light in the bathroom was quite dull.

A large house, plenty of room. Lovely gardens and pool with a mountain View. Great beds. The kitchen was really well equipped and functional. Quirky decorations made the house a bit interesting and fun. Really great hosts - helpful and there if you needed them but not intrusive. Seeing the zebras and the wilderbeast was also an added bonus.

Host Andre was exceptionally welcoming and informative. Great suggestions and directions to explore the area. The on-site bush babies, monkeys, and zebras (which you may hand feed, a truly unique experience) were icing on the cake!

Everything was perfect for us with teenagers but the upstairs bedrooms would be tricky for small children or elderly due to steep open tread staircases. There are three beautiful ground floor rooms though so it just means considering that when allocating rooms and is certainly not something to put you off staying here. Nothing should put you off staying here -it’s fabulous!

This is a beautiful property. Very quirky and rustic and individual whilst still feeling really special and with all comforts. The main bedroom was the most special bedroom I have ever stayed in! We loved the outdoor space to just sit in the sunshine and listen to the birds and enjoy the views of the mountains. My teenage boys had a great time with the log fire and cooking on the braii and Erna and Andre were fabulous hosts -friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We wholeheartedly recommend and wish we could have stayed longer.
