The apartment was really cozy and well equiped. Very friendly staff! My husband and I enjoyed the view, the vibe and the fireplace and the fishing was so much fun. The food at the restaurant was great value for money!

We have stayed at 12 different establishments in the Cape over the past couple of months and were shocked to be slapped with a R250 cleaning fee for a one night stay in a studio at the lodge. Nowhere else were we charged a cleaning fee even if we stayed for a longer period. We struggled to find our room having been told where to go but numbering and sineage was poor. We found the communication in the unit very harsh with threats of fines if we did or didn't do! We did not find candles or lights for use during load shedding. No mention of wifi availability. Only rooibos tea was supplied.

We loved Witsand and the location of the lodge.

There were repairs happening at the property, with drilling and hammering in the morning.

The view overlooking the small fishing harbour and the Breede River is stunning. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the balcony was a bonus!

The utensils in the kitchen were not clean. The towels were not smelling nice and were very hard. We had to ask for clean towels. We expected the room to be cleaned daily. No milk,tea and coffee when we arrived. We had to drive to buy the above.

The unit is not friendly for disabled people. There are 2 flights of steps which was not given on the information page about the unit.

The self-catering unit was comfortable and has a beautiful view over river which was very lovely to experience.

no WiFi and no generator for load shedding currently up to 4 hours at a time or 6 hours a day. so Sunday morning we couldn’t make w coffee in the room 6-10 am. and I doubt the restaurant next door in the accommodation facility could help us with that due to the same problem.

I arrived quite late on a Sunday (3:30pm), then there is no option to get food or drinks. Everything in town was closed. I thought the resort might have something to buy. No Wifi in the room.

Aircons did not seem to work and DSTV stopped working on the second day. They did offer to move us but we were happy where we were.
