The property was absolutely beautiful, very clean and all the rooms had amazing views. There were so many places to relax and spot wildlife. Annalize and Wilhem were so friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome. Their years of experience hosting and managing remote lodges in Southern Africa really shows. The food and service was also brilliant. Can’t recommend Belle Balance enough!

We recently spent two unforgettable nights at Belle Balance Bush Lodge, and it was an experience we will cherish forever! From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel right at home, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. The lodge itself is beautifully situated in nature, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere that instantly helped us unwind. Our accommodations were comfortable and tastefully decorated, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the tranquil surroundings. One of the highlights of our stay was the game drive. It was an incredible experience to see the wildlife in their natural habitat, and the knowledgeable guides made the adventure even more memorable. We were lucky enough to spot an array of animals and learn about the local ecosystem, which added a fantastic educational element to our trip. The relaxed atmosphere at Belle Balance Bush Lodge made it easy to let go of our everyday stresses. We found ourselves wishing we could extend our stay to soak in even more of the beautiful surroundings and the delightful hospitality. Every detail was carefully considered, from the delicious meals to the cozy common areas where we could relax and enjoy the company of fellow guests. We wholeheartedly recommend Belle Balance Bush Lodge for anyone looking for a tranquil escape near Plettenberg Bay. We left feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the wonderful memories created during our stay. We can't wait to return and experience the magic all over again!

With the higher standard of the lodge, we would expect a more permanent solution around loadshedding. Our dinner was interrupted and had to move, even though the schedules would have been known leading up to the evening. The only other point - it seemed that no staff was available until 8am on the Sunday - which was a bit late considering our check-out time at 10am.

The staff and the facilities exceeded expectations. The rooms, the views and the food was exceptional. We enjoyed the massages, and the breakfast was amazing. The staff really went to a lot of effort to make our night special.

The bathroom was a bit disappointing - it was a bit dark & not enough towels provided or anywhere to hang up a used towel. It was a hot day so the room was a bit hot too & a fan would have been nice to have in the room. No lodge info provided in the room such as wifi / dinner / breakfast timings…if there was something it wasn’t easy to find.

The property is absolutely beautiful! The room was super spacious & uniquely decorated. We enjoyed a lovely dinner & the breakfast was delicious too. Missed out on a game drive offered by the lodge as they were fully booked but was quickly assisted with an alternative plan. Overall the staff were friendly & very welcoming. The location of the lodge is absolutely amazing and I would recommend booking a night or two for a little getaway.

Annalize and her husband Wilhelm are incredibly friendly and warm-hearted hosts. Everything was very personal at this place and we loved everything about it. The accomodation itself is furnished in a very stylish and cozy way. It was still a bit cold when we travelled through South Africa but there was the chance to have an open fire in our room and we used heating blankets so it was not cold at all at night. The food was great and especially the lamb goulash Wilhelm cooked for us is highly recommendable. Super soft and delicious - definitely 10/10. In addition, we booked a game drive. We were super lucky to get a private tour as we were the only guests the first day. We asked a lot of questions and it was super interesting. Annalize and her husband are doing these tours for several years so we learned a lot and the atmosphere was just magical and peaceful. We saw elephants, giraffes, rhinos, elephants and more. This place might be smaller compared to other Safari places but as we did something like this for the first time, it was the perfect place to start with. All in all, this place was one of the ones who made our trip through South Africa so special amongst others because of the warm-heartedness of Annalize and Wilhelm.

The property is in a game reserved, so there is a bit of offroad to get there (10 minutes) Also, it was quite complicated to communicate with the guesthouse before arrival

The property is beautiful, very well decorated! The common spaces are amazing, you really feel like home! The staff was also great! We really appreciated having the option to have lunch and dinner there and the food was amazing! (breakfast too) The views from our room were unique

What an unique place! Faith was a wonderful host. And the staff was good. The decoration is sophisticated and cosy. The diner was excellent near the fireplace. We wish we could have stay longer in this unique place. Plus in the reserve of the lodge, we have seen giraffes, zebras… what a wonderful surprise! We will definitely come back!

Property was ok , and staff were amazing. Whilst this will be an amazing place when completed there were a few things rhat gave the impression that it was built with limited cash. We had 2 bats in our room which means we did not sleep. The bathroom shower did not work as the shower head was broken and the water trickled through. Looked like it was built cheaply and if you paying over R5k a night you expect better
