Breakfast was complimentary, and while it was appreciated, a few improvements could make it even better.

The place was exceptionally clean, and I really loved the aesthetics, from the beautiful wall paintings to the charming Victorian-style design. It’s conveniently located close to Mojo Market and within walking distance of other shops, with the beach just a few blocks away. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless and sparkling clean. Towels were changed daily, which was a thoughtful touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more pleasant. One of the highlights was the great view of Lion’s Head, absolutely stunning. Overall, a wonderful stay that I would highly recommend.

Not enough parking - I was worried that I would get parked in and not be able to leave at 04h00 which I needed to do. But the reception guy helped me out with this. The hot water took a few minutes to reach the shower, but this was thoughtfully explained by a sign in the shower. The water in the shower tray drained slowly. Old building, not the end of the world for me.

Unfortunately I had to skip breakfast, but the menu looked good. Bed was comfortable. Reception guy was very helpful and friendly. Quite a fee rooms, but the house was still quiet and peaceful for my quick sleep there.

Water pressure was a little iffy when I was there. The first room that I stayed in was noisy as it was close to the road, but the second room was fantastically quiet and sun drenched in the afternoons. No microwave ovens in the rooms so one has to use those that are located on each floor, which I found inconvenient, as I preferred to eat in my room rather than eat out every night.

The location is good, although being on a main road the traffic noise can become a little intrusive. It is an old mansion built circa 1903 and still retains a lot of the character of they. Decor is very good and homely, wooden floors, high ceilings, chandeliers, headlight windows etc. Staff very helpful and polite. Continental breakfast served in the mornings. A small off street parking area and security is very good. Short walk to all the shops and restaurants you'll ever need, and a brisk walk on the famous Sea Point promenade is a 5 minute walk away.

Since it is winter, it would be great if they offered a heater in the rooms.

Armando is a Gem. Waited up for me even though I arrived late, and offered me a warm welcome!! I love the decor amd the general ambience of the place. It's authentically retro.

Description was wrong (e.g. balcony), and photos seem to be of a different room. Indeed, we had a good price from it being last minute and we were happy with the room, but accurate description/photos is a fair expectation regardless. We were offered discount on a future stay, but I didn't like the inference that the price we paid had anything to do with accuracy.

Great value for money, room nice and cosy, all very clean. Good to have a nespresso machine in the room, plus the continental breakfast was a nice touch that made the value even better. A characterful old building.

I truly appreciated the art. It's a beautiful old building with antique features. Made me feel right at home. We had a spectacular view of the sea and skyline. Needles to say the sunsets were breathtaking. The staff are friendly and accommodating and dont hassel a lot. It will be my preferred accommodation when in Capetown. I Recommend if you're here for rest and relaxation. 😌

If I were to name anything negative it would be that the room I was in was quite small and I also needed to do some work, so for that it was not the most ideal place

Ashby Manor has a very nice charm and Liesl was very engaged to ensure that I had a good stay. She even helped me to get fabric at the local market. The room has all the amenities (including a coffee machine) and was a good retreat from my busy Cape Town activities. Even though the place was quite booked, it was very quiet. The location is great as you can just walk downhill to Seapoint and easily reach cafés and restaurants.

Very nice and cozy place in quiet district. Its atmospheric mansion build in early 1900th, stay there was kind of adventure. Especially want to notice very nice and positive staff. Really enjoed to stay there. Wish to come back again on day. Its located in 5 min walking distance from street with cafes, bars and grocery store.
