Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt’s in more of residential neighbourhood but food and essentials are only 20 - 30 minute walk away.
The value and close proximity to the airport. Also, the Spanish Inn aesthetic was pretty unique. Next door to a public park is nice too. The marsh area 10 way is a bird paradise during the right season.

AustraliaThe shower was broken so took a bit of fiddling. Once it got going, it was lovely. It was also a bit scary getting there in the dark as it involved a lot of twists and turns in dark, narrow streets. I would have been a bit worried if on my own.
Airport Tower Lodge is a gorgeous quirky place not far from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were lovely, beds were comfortable. Good value for money. Lovely pool if the weather had been warmer.

CanadaHotel shuttle was a taxi which we ended up waiting for over an hour. If we had known, would have taken an uber for half the cost and no wait time.
Food was good, bed and room comfortable.

GermanyThe location is fantastic, minutes from the airport but in a extremely quiet neighbourhood. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom even more so! The style of the building is unique and the pool area felt both warm and secluded. The staff were great, the dinner excellent and served on the minute that you pre-order it for. Stayed there 2 nights a week apart, and the second night felt like I was returning home!

KenyaGreat place....stayed for a night. Receptionist was really hospitable. You can organize with them for a pick up and drop off from and to OR TAMBO, at a 280rand price. Its a distance of 15min from OR Tambo. Then from Airport Tower Lodge there's a mall nearby that is just 3-5min drive or less. The view is mind blowing and the rooms are exquisite!!!!!! Makes you feel as if you are in a palace. This, amma do again! Thanks guys.

AustraliaThe general maintenance of the rooms could be improved. On our first 2 stays, our bathroom louvre door had most of the slats missing & the shower handle to control the water was broken off. Apparently, a replacement part had been ordered but not yet arrived. The room for our last stay was better, but the front door was warped & difficult to open or close & the shower leaked into the bedroom as the screen door didn't fit properly. An air-conditioner was available to heat the room, but short circuited the lights if used. Electric blankets were provided, but only one was working. Dinner was offered, but as we found out later, it was not cooked on site. We only realized this when we saw our meals being delivered by motorbike & by the time we got our food, some of it was cold. If we'd known prior, we would have ordered our own takeaway & had it delivered hot to our room. Hard working & kind staff, but the poor maintenance of rooms detracted from our stay.
Close to airport & clean accommodation. We stayed on 3 separate ocasions for overnight between flights. The owner was kind, responsive & helpful. She allowed us to leave a bag of excess clothes with her whilst we went on safari in Botswana, which was greatly appreciated. Nice breakfast at an extra cost. Airport transfers arranged on request for a fee.

United StatesThe swimming pool had a lot of algae, but since this was the winter season, I did not expect to use the swimming pool. With the proprietor Nicolene having recently lost her husband, keeping up with pool maintenance is probably a challenge. This is not the Lodge's fault, but I wish more people would book this undiscovered gem. There was only one young couple there as guests during our stay which made us feel a bit lonely. There are no walk-ins allowed for security reasons. I hope good ratings on Booking.com increase the lodge's popularity.
Airport Tower Lodge is gated and in a secure residential area close to a public park which had numerous Sunday picknickers. In the daytime you can see planes coming in for a landing, but the noise is not excessive. Staying at Airport Tower Lodge is like staying at a huge Spanish Hacienda- as a matter of fact, before it became a lodge, it was a private residence. The ambiance is amazing! Nicolene made us feel so welcome that we regretted staying only two nights. When she saw that we had lots of luggage, she upgraded us to a ground-floor room so we did not have to climb the stairs to our booked Tower Room. I highly recommend the Continental Breakfast which was way beyond our expectations. For dinner, the tasty Asian Stir Fry can be split between two people and even then, you may have trouble finishing the big portion. The lodge arranges shuttle transfer to and from the JNB airport with a local taxi service for 250 Rand each way. The Honesty Bar operates on an honor system- you just write down what you consumed. Coffee and tea are free all day. We'll stay there again if we are ever back in Johannesburg.

BulgariaSome of the furniture looked a bit worn out and needing replacing. There were quite a few steep stairs to get from the door of the room to the room itself and then more stairs to get to the bathroom, which was on the second level. So the room interior was interesting but a bit inconvenient when you had to go to the bathroom at night.
Nice little hotel close to the airport, perfect for a one-night stay if you have a long layover. Staff were really friendly and polite. It’s right next to a lake and a park, so the view is also great. We were on our honeymoon and staff had decorated our room, which was really cool! Thank you!
