The apartment (Neptune) is spacious and comfortable with modern furniture and decor. Everything is well maintained and clean. The view is spectacular. Ivan was friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when in Fishhoek.

Definitely the view.... was absolutely amazing, from the moment you walk down the steps to the apartment. The view from within the apartment .... sitting in the living space or from the bed.... view of the sea and beach. Apartment was spotless clean, definitely impressed by the cleanliness of it. Good quality of new appliances, did not expect a coffee maker and a double airfryer. Thanks Ivan and the ladies of the high standard keeping the apartment so beautifully decorated.

Ivan was a wonderful host and met us in person on arrival to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Any requests were attended to immediately and the team onsite provided excellent daily servicing of the apartment.

It’s located in a quiet neighborhood with an excellent view of the ocean. The pool is great for our little one to enjoy an afternoon dip. The rooms are clean and spacious. Really good value for money. Close to the Boulders Beach for penguins watching and a stone throw away from all the nice restaurants and cafes in Kalk Bay.

Great location away from busy life of the city.. Fantastic views, close to shops and restaurants. The host, Ivan,was great. We arrived very late and we were starving, restaurants were closed so Ivan offered to make sandwiches for us. How thoughtful and kind! Nothing negative to report - truly delightful! I've given my review 9* as Whale of a Time is not a 5* luxury hotel with gym, sauna, bar etc. It's a comfy apartment in a very nice location.

Well, my wife and I were completely bowled-over by our delightful room at Whale of a Time! Classified as a 3* facility - it was super comfy and well equipped for a self-catering holiday. Nice location just outside Fish Hoek town, with a delightful view of the bay from our balcony - and bed! Staff were super, taking care of the apartment every day which was a nice surprise. And the wonderful hosts provided great info on places to visit and really made us feel at home.

Honestly, there was nothing to dislike. Everything exceeded our expectations.

We absolutely loved our stay at A Whale of a Time! The views were stunning, the apartment was spacious, and the daily servicing was exceptional. Our clothes were cleaned, and the apartment was spotless every day. The pool and pool area was very inviting, and the overall cleanliness of the property was impressive. Wow! Wow! Wow! What a wonderful experience in Fish Hoek! And I say "experience" because our stay was much more than just a room to sleep in. Such a beautiful property! Such a sensational view from the deck! Such welcoming hosts! If I could return and stay for a month or two, I'd come back immediately. (May I, Ivan?) I stayed with my partner and our moms. Everyone had a great time. We walked down to Fish Hoek every morning for coffee and pastries, and we enjoyed strolling on the nearby beach and chatting the locals. Highly recommend!

To have those views it means it’s downhill, and uphill to the apartment when you want to get down to the beach, it was particularly windy when we were there and again because of the height it was pretty loud at night time.

The view is fab, the two ladies who mind and clean the apartment were wonderful

Some items such as umbrellas for the sun, basic cooking items such as oil, salt and pepper, keys to the laundry room could have been provided at the start to make for an even more comfortable stay.

The views were breathtaking overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The property is 5 min drive to grocery stores and 10 min drive to Kalk Bay. The host was very accommodative. Ivan allowed us to make changes to our booking and made arrangements for an additional room for our parents who decided to join us at the last minute. The staff were very nice and helped us with the laundry.
