One downside was that the hot water only lasted for a couple of minutes during our shower. We were informed that our room was the furthest from the geyser, which explained the issue, but it was still a bit inconvenient.

The property is well-maintained and our room was elegant and spacious, making it ideal for a night's stay. The staff were friendly and helpful - from the security guard at the gate to Priscilla who greeted us with a warm smile - which made the stay comfortable and welcoming. I also appreciated Priscilla showing us to our room and going through everything with us in meticulous detail. The room featured high-end finishes and stylish décor, adding a touch of luxury to the comfortable accommodation. The accommodation is close to O.R. Tambo International Airport, with easy access to nearby restaurants and shops if you need anything.

We had a wonderful stay at 55 Tulbagh. Everything was professional and well-organised - from booking to check out. The room is beautiful and has everything you need. Our host was friendly and welcoming. She made us feel comfortable and said we could contact her at any time if we need something. The location is excellent. Close to the airport and just a few km from Harvest Place with a selection of restaurants. We slept so well with the block out curtains! And entertainment was on demand with Netflix! We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

Nothing. People who complain about the planes taking off and landing are cynical bastards in my opinion. I choose on purpose a place near the airport and that's what I got. How the Hell can you then complain about the noise of these planes!

This place felt like a 'home-away-from-home'. The great location near the airport (only a mere 7 minute drive), the safely setting and the cosy rooms makes it my favorite place top stay in Jo'burg. And although we all know this is not the safest city on the planet, in the well protected place you and your car feel 100% safe. Also the personal touch and approach of the lovely hosts make me rate this venue a 10+! The owners family played a great part in the South African Railway System, so you see here and there bits of historical artifacts. If this place was mine, I own three hotels my self, I would search their hangars and put all these lovely details on display and decorate all the rooms with them. Even much more then its now! And imagine you sleep in the steam engine room, or in the restoration room or in the....:)

Not much really. If I had to be picky I’d mention the noise from one airplane landing but that’s something you will get from the Intercontinental hotel at the airport too. It wasn’t a problem really.

Very close to the airport and we just needed a place for the night in between flights. Very spacious and comfortable with all the in-room amenities. Sera was an excellent hostess and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. She even gave us a lift back to the airport in the morning. Very kind.

Seems the 2 rooms next to each other share a geyser. Ran out of warm water after about a minute of showering. Not pleasant when it is winter and cold.

The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable. Really nice stay.
