We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

South AfricaThe kettle had to be put on the floor because there was no plug close by. There is no bedside table, and the shower stall leaked as well as one of the handles on the tap missing.
The location is quite central and the neighbourhood looked a bit iffy. Having said that, David was pleasant and welcoming, and in terms of value for money, it works. What was great was that I could accommodate 4 of my staff in one place, and each had their own en-suite room, so they were extremely happy. I joined them for one night and it was ok. Wifi was good.

South AfricaThe Landlords manager did not seem to be expecting us. However he was very friendly and tried to be helpful. He put us into the parking and disappeared to talk to his boss I guess? Then we were invited to park our car in a yard over the street from the accomodation. The manager then tried to show me a room up some flights of steps that I could not view. I have a broken knee. He then showed me a room down some steps. Same problem! The accomodation was a house which has had all the rooms turned into tiny BB's. They looked ok at a glance. We did not feel safe in the area and especially because our car was parked in a different yard. We decided to look elsewhere for a BB that had level ground and parking next to the accomodation so that we could easily load and unload. I would like a refund but do not know if the Landlord will give it to me.

South AfricaShowers. Shower heads not positioned so water flows over your body. No shower door on Room I stayed in. Floor tiles extremely smooth and slippery. Water all over floor when showering. No Aircons. The host exceptionally unpleasant. Walks in socks, trousers half over his ass, and permanently on his phone. My own staff speak better than him. Ceilings full of moistness. Saturday evening, around 21h30, had to wait for the guy to come open the gate, as he was at the shops buying food. No remotes provided to enter the property. No soap or body wash in the one room we rented. Had to ask for extra towel, even though we booked for three(3) people. Only one towel in each room. Toilet Paper holder in my room, hanging loose off the wall. Walls dirty. The property is also nowhere near Bluewater Bay where I originally searched for. Photo's look great on the site you advertise of them, but definitely NOT what we experienced. I have photo's, and will send with pleasure, when I received feedback from you as Booking.com, as they do not want to load on your website.
What Breakfast? The only thing I can actually say was good, was the beds.
