The bathroom is very basic with no large shower. No romantic platter as from the pictures? No strewberries the cheese platter was very basic. NB: we need to be compensated for a free booking .

Well the food was fabulous...the chef excellent 👌 compliments to the chef but the front staff disappointed no help let alone the bathroom was so basic. No large shower only a bath shower that was disappointing. Simon and the restaurant staff were so professional and the breakfast was great. Awesome. Will book again but maybe a suite and a family stay over. The cheese platter was so plain for that price. Also it was our anniversary so on the pictures we thought we were getting the chocolate strawberries and the pastels and all that goes with the Romantic look to make our night extra special. That was not included so we were disappointed with that.

-We could hear the noise from the bar in our room,that part really needs to be attended to. -It would be nice to be informed of all activities to do on arrival.There is a boomfire place that was never explored :-(

The 10am Breakfast end time slot is too soon, forces one to wake up extra early. But at least they tried keeping it on until 10:30am

Yep I enjoyed the breakfast true value for money. Beautiful Place with great mountains scenery, clean air, quiet.. lots of activities to do. Friendly dedicated staff. Tshepo helped me take beautiful pictures around. Restaurant manager awesome host and Bongani at the bar sent me off with tasty latte... Thank you very much. I definitely visit again.

The property has definitely had its heyday and is. Now a bit dated. The approach road is certainly not meant for a regular car, needs a 4x4.

There was no barfridge in the room.

The views were amazing, the room was clean. The aircon was working and there was an extra blanket available. The breakfast was good. The internet was also great. The hotel staff was friendly from receptionists, the restuarant, the bar and the cleaners. We also saw a bit of the animals.

The room service menu was disappointing; basic items like a toasted sandwich or a simple plate of chips were not available. The room itself was adequate, but the shower showed visible signs of black mold, which should be addressed immediately. The complimentary coffee pods provided were insufficient for a stay of more than one night. A minimum of 2 pods per person is adequate. The in-room TV was subpar—poor screen resolution and no smart functionality, which means streaming services like Netflix were not an option. For a venue aiming to attract modern travelers, this is a significant oversight. The dining area felt more like a canteen than a restaurant, with uncomfortable steel chairs that certainly don't encourage guests to linger and enjoy extended meals or drinks. Venue doesn't allow you to bring items in. Bar didn't have coke zero sugar zero caffeine. Which we would have bought to have in our room. Nearest garage, ATM is kms away. Upon check-in, I asked the receptionist if room service offered toasted sandwiches and chips—she didn’t know. I believe all staff should be well-informed about the hotel’s services to ensure guest queries are answered efficiently, ideally within five minutes. Simply brushing off questions with “I don’t know” is not acceptable for a hospitality establishment. I also inquired about a hiking map, but none were available, which was disappointing for a venue that promotes outdoor activities. Despite being a cashless venue, the hotel didn’t have small change available for amenities like the pool table. It’s unreasonable for guests to be told they cannot be assisted with coins, they when trying to make a plan to enjoy the pool table have staff be reluctant to help because their tips are only paid out in 30 days. This reflects poorly on both guest service and staff welfare. Finally, the hotel advertises high-speed Wi-Fi, but the connection was virtually non-existent.

The area is absolutely pristine and breathtaking. Even in winter, the valley and rolling hills offer a rejuvenating escape that only nature can provide. The venue’s signage, both en route and on the property, was clever and humorous—a delightful touch that set a welcoming tone. The breakfast buffet had a good variety, and there were always enough staff on hand to assist when needed. During our stay, we were lucky to spot springbok, weerbokkies, giraffes, and dassies, which made the experience even more special. The Riverview Spa was a highlight. The iced tea served was refreshing and delicious, the staff were exceptionally attentive, and the Swedish massage was truly excellent.

I really didn't like the fact that there wasn't a kiosk at the hotel where we could treat ourselves to snacks, ice creams, biltongs and etc.

We loved our stay, but the road to the property could be a real deterrent – especially when compared to places like Cradle Moon, Africa Hills, La Joya or Kloofzicht. Even just two cement strips would make a big difference. It would also be great to see more activities on offer, like mountain bike hire or sunrise/sunset yoga or Pilates to make the most of the beautiful setting.

A truly special stay at 26 Degrees South! The staff were amazing—especially Trudi, who surprised us with fresh scones and went out of her way to accommodate us, even down to small thoughtful touches like moving a table for us. The attention to detail makes all the difference. We loved that some animals roam freely around the property—it adds such charm! Still hoping to spot a zebra drinking from the pool one day. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to return!
