I visited for a week for a wedding of friends, this accommodation is wonderful, clean and with a breathtaking view of fishhoek town and beach. Only a 15 min walk to the beach or couple of mins drive down the hill. Ray was fantastic and the room cleaner was lovely. The room comes with a safe, a fridge and a mini bar full of refreshments. My stay here exceeded my expectations and I really wasn’t ready to leave. Overall had a fantastic stay, felt very welcome here and look forward to returning. We had a few problems with Uber so Ray also kindly gave us a lift down to the beach cafe when checking out. Thankyou

See comment re breakfast (but in the end, it was really nice and fun to eat on the beach)

A lovely modern property perched on the mountain side with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Fish Hoek Bay. Our room was large and comfortable with a kettle and fridge stocked with drinks. You do really need a car - it’s a very steep road up through a residential area to the property but there’s off road parking. For breakfast, you’re given a voucher for a beachside cafe about 2 miles away - the reviews of the restaurant were not good but we found it a great location on the beach, staff were friendly and food was fine. A good stay that we really enjoyed.

Ray and Cynthia are very welcoming and kind hosts. The accommodation was extremely clean with attention paid to details (e.g. overview of nearby restaurants ranked in EUR). The view from the room overlooking False Bay is absolutely breath taking! We only stayed for two nights, would definitely recommend!

Amazing views and excellent location for some peace and quiet
    • Leisure trip

There was nothing I disliked about my stay. Everything was well in order. One thing to note, which the B&B does list in its description, is to be prepared to walk down a flight of +-25 steps with your bags (and back up when you check out). This was no issue as I was made well-aware in advance.

1 Mountain Road has some of the best views from the peninsula, overlooking Fish Hoek, False Bay and the beach. Ray and Sanchia are excellent hosts, and even messaged me with some area updates that were happening. I stayed in Room 2, but they all have similar amazing views, and I assume similar facilities. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, and there is loads of cupboard space, including a digital safe. The fridge/mini-bar is a nice touch. It came well-stocked and was very reasonably priced. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the setting during my stay. Two options for breakfast were included - a continental breakfast served at the B&B with advance notice, and a daily voucher for a group of restaurants down the road by the beach. Also great is that there is an access path to Elsie's Peak very close by, which I hiked up in about 25 minutes to watch an awesome sunrise from. The path is very rocky and steep, but also very worth it!

    Literally every detail I liked

First of all, the location is very exclusive, and the view is stunning. You could spend your vacation there at any time of the year and you would always be guaranteed a very nice atmosphere since the room is basically absorbed by the stunning view with this bigterrace. So even in winter a must go. Also, it is very clean and very comfortable. Lastly, the owners Ray and his wife are just super friendly and very supportive hosts. I really enjoyed the restaurant recommendations and the overall atmosphere in their beautiful home. They have a deal with a restaurant at the beach which you can go to by foot and 10-15 minutes which is a very nice routine in the morning. They recommend to have a car which I had not and I didn’t regret that. It’s like an extra fun activity to go down the stairs with your swimming shorts. Have a good swim in the morning and then have breakfast for example, waffles or fish while listening to the sound of the waves and later go back up to your apartment.

You would need a car as the bnb is located on the top of a small hill which is a difficult walk up and down.

Ray and his wife were very hospitable and we're excellent hosts, definitely recommend staying here. The room is spacious with excellent views. Heated blankets were a huge hit with us. The area itself is very relaxed and the restaurant where you have your breakfast is great and located on the beach.

Location up on the hill felt safe and views were stunning. Comfy room, but the floors were a little cold. Heat pump was unfortunately broken, but an alternative heat source was found.

    Can't fault anything.

Not only are the views breathtaking, the hosts also thought of every little detail, making us feel welcome and ensuring that we were comfortable. It felt like home away from home with a comfy bed, king size pillows, electric blankets, a full hairdryer, gowns and slippers, and so much more. They made myself and my family feel welcome, making me a cappuccino while I was working late at night. When my son left his old boys school tie in the cupboard, Ray came looking for us after check-out to give it back to him. Special people and a hidden gem, I would highly recommend staying at 1 Mountain View.

There are 25 steps (it is mentioned in the description) which you have to carry your bags, but it's worth the effort. You need a vehicle as well, as walking from Fish Hoek is a challenge for the strong at heart. Breakfast is not included, but in front of the Calders hotel there is a little caffe which serves the best pastries!!

The view is absolutely stunning, and from room 2 you have the sunrise visible from your bed! The terrace allows great evening relax time with the sound of the waves. The rooms are tidy, very clean and there is everything you need and more. The cleaning service is 5 star as well. Parking is on the street with plenty of space. I strongly recommend this solution when you are in the area.
