Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

VietnamWe were bitten by mosquito. Also the soundproof is so-so, we could hear people dragging luggage outside and trucks driving past behind the fence.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to accommodate our request. There were welcoming drink and fruit, very nice and pleasant. The amenities in the bathroom were all from well-known brand and we loved the private onsen and sauna. Food was nice and and quite diverse. Wifi was pretty strong. Soft bed and comfy blanket. The overall atmosphere were calming and pleasant. We enjoyed our stay.

CanadaThe clientele at the public onsen were very loud. I kept on telling them to be quiet. It ruined the experience. The staff should enforce that you have to be quiet.
The buffet dinner and breakfast was excellent. They gave us some fresh fruit and dessert in our room with loose green tea which was excellent and added a special touch. The person showed us how to use the sauna and the onsen. The room was really cute and cosy.

AustraliaThe staff did not provide a thorough orientation upon check-in, which led to an unexpected charge for a cookie jar that I was informed was complimentary with the tea. I took a bite, found it unsatisfactory, and was unaware that it was not included as a freebie until checkout. On my first day, I received a menu to pre-order breakfast for the next day, but the check-in staff failed to instruct me to use the QR Code on the table for ordering, a significant oversight considering my mother's age of 75. Consequently, I missed breakfast the following day until I made a call to arrange it. While the breakfast was satisfactory, the options were limited for a resort; only European, Japanese, and Vietnamese cuisines were available, with just two choices each. The lack of a single-room option for solo travelers is a bummer.
The room features an in-built sauna and an outdoor heated onsen, offering a fantastic view. The breakfast provided is delightful. My package comes with a daily complimentary 30-minute foot massage, which is a superb addition. Despite traveling alone and staying in a double room, I received two breakfasts each morning. I prefer a buffet breakfast, but unfortunately, this option is not available during the low season.

GermanyIt was a bit difficult navigating the public onsen so I spent a lot of time trying to figure things out. But the staff was still very helpful and tried their best to help. Still enjoyed it in the end! I would recommend new guests to ask the reception more questions before visiting the public onsen.
Very spacious, beautiful Japanese-styled house in a Japanese-styled villa complex. Nicely decorated and equipped with plenty of amenities. Private onsen and saunas are fully functional and easy to use. Staff offered to drive me from the house to the public onsen however I enjoyed walking the 100-200m and enjoying the promenade and views.

AustraliaYoko Onsen was a fantastic experience, not the kind of hotel you would get just anywhere. The rooms were exactly per the photos if not better. The scenery around the hotel was amazing and the facilities were great. Would 100% recommend and stay there again.

PortugalI believe the price is a little inflated for the area, although it's a Japanese type of Hotel. The public Onsens didn't seem to have true thermal water. We also asked if we could take or pay for the yukatas, but the answer was negative and a little arude. The ramen we order for dinner in the room, was not very good.
The resort was amazing, very beautiful Japanese decour, and full of wonderfull details. Our room was a studio with our personal sauna and mini garden and stone jacuzzi. They had beautiful yukatas and woden slippers for us to wear when leaving the room. The breakfasts were interesting.

IndiaCheckin was a bit frustrating as the lady at checkin counter didn't know English. We were asked to wait in the nap room while room was being readied, people there were snoring and talking loudly on phones. We were absolutely quiet trying to respect the purpose of the room. However, hardly anyone gave a damn. Dinner buffet is overpriced, we went for a al carte.Seating in restaurants is very uncomfortable. You only get hard wooden chairs that you find at fast food restaurants. My husband forgot his smartwatch in the room while checking out but we didn't manage to get it back.
Mochi on arrival was good. Good rooms and breakfast. It's better done as a daycation than overnight stay. Once done with the onsens which takes maximum one hour there's nothing much to do. Rooms were really nicely done in Japanese style, nice onsens in the middle of mountains under open sky. No need to book room with private onsen as you'll hardly end up using it given the public onsens size and variety.

Czech RepublicBe prepared. The other guests are VERY noisy and the fact that their children shout on the way to breakfast does not bother anyone. The hotel provides wooden slippers - good luck sleeping when they pass your room. Dinner is a buffet which CLOSES at 19.30 so we did not try. A la carte is a horror. They brought my partner THREE courses before they brought my - cold - miso soup and what had to pass as main course. The other day I ordered a bottle of white wine and they brought red wine. I told them. “No no, it is white wine”. Then she called a colleague who confirmed it was white wine. (I am 65 years old and I have seen a bottle of red and white wine and believe me, it was stark red). You cannot deal with these people. Breakfast is a noisy rout with retching people and running children. We left two days early despite having paid in advance. And yes, of course we complained there was no reaction from the Management.
The rooms are nice and large and have a private sauna and Japanese furniture. The location looks nice.
