How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Love love the location as you are more amongst locals here. Great very helpful host. We rented bikes, motorbike from here too. They also do laundry for same price as outside homestay. Plenty food options around too! We stayed over 2 weeks on and off in the end.

Breakfast at hotel expensive compared to local shops.
Booked a double room, but none available when checked in so was upgraded to a triple room with no extra cost, very spacious and had a balcony. Air con worked well.

I didn't mind, but travelers should know there is no elevator, but it's only 3 floors total

Location is in the center. The price is so cheap and the room is spacious and clean, there's also a terrace. You get everything you need. The staff is kind.

Didn’t get the room is actually booked but the other one was decent enough for our stay.
Great spot for a few days - has a great restaurant just outside. Can rent bicycles to use for very cheap. Comfy beds.

The pressure in the shower could be improved.
The family who runs this guesthouse are so kind and helpful. The location is very convenient as there are many banks, convenient stores, and restaurants located next door to a 3 minute walk away. It takes all of 5 minutes to walk into the old city and 10 minutes to walk to the night market by the river. The room and bathroom are a good size and both are very clean. The bed, linens, and pillows are very comfortable. The shower has hot water. The A/C and WiFi work perfectly. We stayed for 6 nights and the owners offered to clean our room and change our towels multiple times. She also provided new soap and shampoo packets which was a nice touch.

on arrival there was a little confusion and we had to stay in another room for that first night. this room had poor water pressure, and no desk which i needed. luckily we moved into the room we paid for the next day and so grateful for this - much larger and with desk which i needed. the balcony was nice too ! on departure their card machine didn’t work either and so we had to pay cash. luckily we just had enough to pay but the whole process just delayed our departure so allow yourself enough time in case something similar happens to you. do the same for bike hire as we were delayed with this too and missed the beginning of our tour.
really well located just off the ancient town city centre - just a few minutes walking. lots of food options near by at good prices as it’s a little more local. incredible vegetarian restaurant next door that you just try !! the host rented us a motorbike to use which was awesome and helped us get to My Son for some exploring. the room was a good size and had a desk for working which for me was necessary, as well as a lovely little balcony.

Host didn’t have any air con on in whole building, so it was unbearably hot. Air con in room was okay, took a good while to get the room cold. Host did not have much English
Location is about 10 minute walk to old town- good spot. Cafes and restaurants nearby. Host was helpful booking cheap transfer to Hue. Room was spacious Go to cafe 43 outside!

Great home stay! Super nice owner who speaks English and advise you really well and helps to book you tours/bus! You can rent bike on site which is nice as well The room was super clean nothing to say! And location is perfect just a few minutes from old town
