Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaThe sockets in the room were a bit loose.
The home stay exceeded our expectations! We booked it at the last moment and it was amazing! The owners welcomed us warmly and helped with all necessary information. The room is very spacious and clean! The swimming pool was very nice and clean, and there’re lots of sunbeds. Really beautiful yard with tables, swings and beautiful plants. The homestay is located around 10 minutes walk from major attractions but the area is safe and quiet. One of the best stays in Vietnam!

IrelandThe pool area could do with a revamp. The property has so much potential.
It was super clean, room was tidied every day with fresh towels & water. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful with booking tours, shows, food & coffee recommendations. The free bikes were a life saver too! Our room opened up straight onto the ground pool level so that was great.

AustriaThe bathroom was dirty. The tile walls were moldy, it seems it hasn’t been cleaned properly since so long. I tried to clean it with my sandal and got removed. I’d recommend that they pay attention to this… thank you! Also to pay attention in the kitchen.
The staff were so kind to us. Specially when we arrived we had a warm welcoming and recommendations. Price was great for what we got! The front desk girl always helped us and checked if we needed anything, so welcoming. We loved there!

New ZealandThey lock the front desk at 10pm, so when you arrive back after 10pm it can be dark and locked. Sometimes their dog barks at you when you come home late. However, there is a staff member around to help you enter through the restaurant entrance. Apart from that, the entire stay was pleasant and relaxing. Everyone was very welcoming.
The staff were easy to communicate with and very friendly. They helped us book a cooking class, the memories of Hoi An, and a car drop off to Da Nang. The pool is great and a decent size.

JapanThe shower was a bit difficult to control the temperature.
The breakfast staff was flexible so you could order your preference of food from a menu. The fresh fruit and fruit juices were amazing. The beds were comfortable. The Muse House assisted, and were flexible, in all aspects of our trip, from airport pick up and planning and booking excursions (such as a cooking class). The Muse House is only a 15 minute walk to the old town and is in a convenient location.

AustraliaThe rooms were spacious, and the hotel was well located. The air conditioning offered in the room was perfect to come back to after a day of sightseeing. Phuong was extremely helpful by giving us a rundown of activities we could do nearby and organising drivers as well as a night boat ride to add to our trip total at the end. The Cafein coffee cart directly opposite the muse hotel is a must try!! Salted coffee and regular iced coffee was the best we had in Vietnam.

Czech RepublicAt the beginning receptionist was really good. She explained to us everything and gave us a lot of recommendations, so even before checking in we right away decided to prolong our stay. Villa has a great location, everything is close, you are in centre but still in quiet part of the city. You can also rent a bike for free and explore it a little more :) overall one of best accommodations we had in Vietnam.

We had an amazing time here and even extended our stay. You get the best of both worlds - close to the center, especially when using the provided bikes, but still a relaxing place where you can unwind. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and have everything you need. The staff is super nice and helpful. Plus, the breakfast is delicious! We hope to come back one day!!

SloveniaBreakfast was okay—nothing fancy, but it did the job. The pool wasn’t very clean, so we didn’t spend much time there. Luckily, we had so many other exciting things to do that we barely noticed. Overall, it didn’t affect our stay!
We really liked the location – perfect for a short stay or as a base to explore the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they can arrange a variety of tours, from cooking classes to the Hoi An Memory Show and lantern boat trips. They also helped us book airport transfers to and from Da Nang. Everything they offered was cheaper than what we found online, including the tours and transport! The laundry service was excellent – they washed different colors separately, and everything was done quickly and at a great price. Super convenient if you’re traveling for a longer time.

PolandI traveled with my 2 daughters. We booked family room and actually got 2 adjoining rooms, each with its own bathroom. Both rooms were quite spacious, comfortable and clean. We booked 2 trips with the help of hotel. They arranged for us a private car pickup from Hue and I also booked with them a car to take us to Danang airport which was cheaper than taking Grab.

Easy walking distance to Hoi An’s old town and located in a quiet area. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The property itself has nice gardens and the pool was a welcome relief to cool down after exploring the area. The staff were exceptional; couldn’t do enough for us and just so friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to come back and stay again one day!!

New ZealandWe received a very enthusiastic pitch for all the local attractions when we checked in, and although I'm sure that was well-intentioned (and was actually very useful too), we were tired and just wanted to get to our rooms. We would have preferred to get the tourism briefing once we'd relaxed a bit :) Not a big deal though, and the hotel is a great place to stay.
Our room was nicely appointed and right next to the pool. The Muse House is only a short walk away from the main Old Town bridge, so very handy to all of the markets, restaurants and bars. The staff were very helpful, and there are bicycles which can be borrowed so you can go for a longer explore. The pool is great - lovely to cool off after a day's cycling or walking around the markets. A very good place to base yourself while exploring Hoi An.
